Hi thanks for the reply I downloaded the firmware and when applying it I get a language mismatch error so I found the hiktools utility and changed it to CN (hiktools lang digcap.dav 2) now when it boots I get a message saying 'you devicxe is illeage, please call factory!!' thanks again

i managed to pluginto the serial port and press Ctrl-U to start the firmware update but any firmware i try will not work can anyone recommend the correct firmware? thanks in advanced

My model # is DS-7716n-e4/16p Yes it is possible I used the wrong firmware, but I am trying to restore it back, I have tried using the TFTP tool (set PC to 192.0.0.128 and I can ping 192.0.0.64 but wont transfer digicap.dav) but nothing is working for me at the moment thanks again

Hi All I have had a firmware gone bad now the unit just bootsup to logo and constantly beeps then reboots. I have tried using hikvision tftp but can never make a connection to NVR? any help is greatly appreciated
