Yup, exactly. As wittay said, if the subject moves out of the preset view area then it doesn't work. I have the camera mounted on the corner of the house so for my case 4-10 seconds is not enough. I do have infrared motion sensors and multiple fixed cameras that are tied to my home automation...

I appreciate it, but I don't have outside access setup. I'm interested to see what works in his environment which isn't too dissimilar. The deep ivs settings on this cam are pretty minimal, so just to get a glimpse would be enough.
