With Dahua is better to let the PoE NVR to do the initialization of the cameras. It'll set them up with the NVR password. If you initialize the cameras yourself and by chance decide to use a password different than the NVR is using, well...you're up to some potential surprises after a reboot...

Hi, you got it right, vtnc3000A is only compatible with vto2000a-2 and vth1550chw-2, for the newer vto and vth you need the vtns1006a-2. Something similar goes for the PoE on IP VTO and VTH, the old VTNS1060A only works with vto2000a and vth1550ch, bew ones work with regular PoE switches.

Have you tried to perform a manual restart of the camera via its menu after saving the settings to check if the configuration is also lost that way?

Last time I've checked the prices for the face recognition cameras (which exist) were over the top, it was way cheaper to set up one of these NVR for the face recognition.

I didn't fully understand you. Did you manage to power up the faulty camera with a different cable? If the camera is not powering up through PoE you can try to power it up with a 12v - 3a power supply, if it works, then chances are one of the capacitors for the PoE has died during the storm...

The only hint I can give you is to stay away from imou, Dahua offers better (although not perfect) options, you have Dmss for your mobile phone and SmartPss for your laptop. Most likely your problem comes from one of the many issues Imou has been having. Unfortunately I can't offer further...

Those walls you can see on every picture are killing you. They are overexposed and cause that the rest of the image is obscured. Try adjusting the angle of the camera if you have room for it, the less wall you get, the better quality you'll have on the rest of the image.
