    BIG Owl on my Trail

Great Horned Owl on Thoroughbred Trail 06/10/25 Hello! I haven't seen owls on my camera in a few months, so it's nice to have an appearance.

I found it easier and cheaper (for me) to put a tiny, cheap POE camera inside the mailbox:

    Docker Wyze Bridge - configuration

Ok, this is strange. I went back to the firmware page to see if I could download 4.36.10.4054 directly, and not only is it not linked, neither is 4.36.10.2864: I downloaded 4.36.10.2864 from that page 48 hours ago, and now it's no longer available. Curiouser and curiouser. I still have my...

    Docker Wyze Bridge - configuration

Thanks! I downgraded my one of my Garage Door Controller V3 cams to 4.36.13.0416, and re-pulled the Docker Wyze Bridge from mrlt8's latest, and I still couldn't see it in the Bridge. So I rolled all the way back to 4.36.10.2864, and then the Bridge could see it. Unfortunately the Wyze App then...

    Docker Wyze Bridge - configuration

Thanks! Can you tell me which firmware you have on your v3 cameras? My cameras that have stopped working with the Bridge are: v3/4.61.0.3 v3/garage door controller/4.36.14.3289 (3 of these in various locations) v3 Pro/4.58.13.3289 I have two other v3 cams running the old RTSP firmware, and I...

Good IP Cameras That Don't Need IR Lights

Most mid-wave and long-wave IR cameras detect emitted light, e.g. based on the temperature of the object emitting the light instead of external light reflecting off the object, but those are not going to show up in consumer-grade IP cameras for awhile, because the detectors and lenses are...

Good IP Cameras That Don't Need IR Lights

Do you mean "without any IR illumination at all, including without the camera's built-in IR LEDs?" Or do you mean "with only the camera's built-in IR LEDs, but without adding external illuminators"? Because those are two completely different questions.

Nice! That would be the best solution, if possible. I'd use this on nearly half of my cameras. I know how to bypass the power diode on some models, but not on the newest model that I've been buying. Great find! I've been looking for something like this for awhile, but couldn't find one. $30 is...

    Docker Wyze Bridge - configuration

. . . and now the Docker Wyze Bridge solution doesn't really work any more. Or at least it's not working for me. Wyze changed something in the authentication or API or ???, and now my v3 cameras don't transit through the Bridge to BI. Does anyone have a workaround?

    Vigilant Solutions VSR-60-02MP1 IP Camera IPC262ER9-X10DU 24V, 1.5A, 50/60Hz.

Yeah. I'm thinking they could have charged a lot more than $30 - $35 for these, and still sold a whole bunch of them. Because a $35 list price suggests that they might be junk, and they're certainly not junk. Maybe once all the $35 inventory has been depleted I'll try to sell one for $100 and...

If you could figure out which diode to bypass, you could bring the 12 V from the POE circuit back out on the 12 V supply lines, and then we could use that to power a mic or an external illuminator.

Hmmm. A long time ago I bought one of these: for use with my RLC-423S BeeCam, because YouTube Stream Now requires an audio track*, but I never hooked it up because it was too much trouble to extract my BeeCam wiring from the box I crammed it into, so it's sitting in a box somewhere in my junk...

I am unfamiliar with with analog audio at the electrical level--does a line-in audio circuit know if anything is connected? Or is it just sampling a voltage on a wire, regardless of what's happening? If I were to solder an RCA jack onto brown/brown-white pair, and then pipe in some music at...

If you can figure out how to enable audio, these would be worth at least $40 apiece!!!

Actually there's another listing for another bunch of these. As low as $21.31/each, but there's $10 shipping, but that's still less than the $33.24 I paid last time. I just ordered a few more. I have no need for these, but I can't resist! Once I've set them for DHCP and updated their firmware...
