    Router Config

Everyone, thanks for the help. I was able to get Transparent Bridge mode up after a few struggles. Windstream/Kinetic didn't orignally give me an email address which is required for the PPoE credentials. Once I got this from Windstream everything went smoothly!

    Wyze Cam v3

Anyone had any recent lucked getting the Wzye Cam v3 or similar to work with BI? I'm using all Dahua cams outside and a couple of Amcrest IP2M-841's inside for monitoring the pets. Was hoping for something a little more discrete indoors. Wyze physically would look better but I've read lots of...

    Backup Options

Definitely....Monitored Alarm, 3 large indoor dogs (2 German Shepherds), and someone is almost always at home. I'm just kind of partial to my stuff and can't stand a thief!

    Backup Options

Can't say I'm a firm believer in PC locks, at least not the ones I've seen made for laptops! Maybe something creative like a cable style bicycle lock. I'd just hate to lose the best chance at catching a thief should it ever occur. I'd thought about using Micro SD cards but was concerned about...

    Backup Options

I'm currently running a 6 Dahua Cameras and recording to a dedicated BI PC in my home. I'm concerned about the possible theft of the BI PC if I were robbed and would like to somehow back up the video in real time. I have a Synology NAS on the same network but have read that its not recommended...

VPN Synology NAS vs. Asus RT-AC1900P

So after much tinkering with the network, I have confirmed that the Asus Router WAN port has died but also found that you can turn one of the LAN ports into a failover WAN. Got everything reconfigured and back going as it should be. Guess I'll buy another router at some point so that I can...

VPN Synology NAS vs. Asus RT-AC1900P

Yes, AT&T Uverse is the provider. I have to setup DMZ Mode and point it at the Asus router to make it work. Considering switching to Comcast to make life easier!

VPN Synology NAS vs. Asus RT-AC1900P

Thanks everyone. Setting up the Asus behind the AT&T modem was PIA the first time and only complicates the configuration. Not looking forward to it again but looks like I'm picking up a new router this weekend.

VPN Synology NAS vs. Asus RT-AC1900P

Question for the network guru's. My Asus RT-AC1900P appears to have died. It was setup behind an AT&T Modem so that I could use the VPN functionality of the RT-AC1900P. I also have a Synology DS218+ that has a built-in VPN Server. Part of the setup on the Synology requires that I forward a...
