Right. On playback, there is a solid, continuous blue line at the bottom. No blanks or missing video segments like there should be.

I went through the web UI and although it did seem to change the settings to MOTION, the cameras are still recording continuously. In fact, ALL of the cameras (even the Hikvision ones) are all recording continuously even though MOTION is set up on all of them. At least that's what the NVR says.

I just tried your procedure and while it did seem to save settings for Motion Recording, the cameras STILL record continuously. In fact, I now see that although even the Hikvision cameras are all set to MOTION, they are also still recording continuously! So, I just don't get it.

Yeah, I checked that and they are set to Event. So then I logged into the Dahua Config Tool and set the cameras up for Motion but the cameras will not "save" the changes for some reason. The program says the changes were made and saved but when I go back into setup, it still says continuous...

Ah, ok. I thought about the motion sensitivity. I had adjusted that so I'll reset to default and see if that works. Thx!

Sorry. Manual add set to ONVIF protocol through port 80 with IP address set at 192.168.254.79 and NVR IP is 192.168.254.1 and the highest IP address of another camera is 192.168.254.101. I still have the original box and manual they both say the camera is ONVIF compliant. Maybe I should upgrade...

My Hikvision NVR can not find my GeoVision camera. However, when the camera is plugged in, the video feed is a blank screen, instead of saying "No Link" when the camera is not plugged in. Also, the error message for the camera says "unknown error" when it is plugged in, instead of "IP camera not...

Hmmm. I set both of my Dahua cameras to motion and you're right, there was no indication on the setup screen that motion was working and unfortunately for me, there were also no recording segments at all even though I walked around in front of both cameras off/on all day. :/

UPDATE: I'm relaunching a new Thread to see if it catches anyone else's attention. You would think SOMEONE out there has had a similar problem and either got it fixed or knows it can't be fixed.
