    Dahua PSS/Smart PSS

I've been using a high end (new Core i7, 16GB RAM) laptop to power Blue Iris for displaying 7 IP cams on a monitor and it has worked well. This was temporary though, and I need that laptop back. I just built an Intel NUC with a Core i5 and it is struggling to power Blue Iris with the same...

    Dead Dahua NVR

I powered up without a HDD and it cranked right up. I installed 2 new drives and seem to be back in business. Fortunately the other two drives seem to be working in the other NVR just fine and I was even able to pull up all the existing camera footage. Good thing too because I just had to spend...

    Dead Dahua NVR

I do have two new hard drives that I bought for the other unit, so I will put them in this one and see if it makes a difference. Thanks

Great question! I will check that when I get the chance.

Software to review Dahua hardware NVR footage?

Smart PSS does let you access the recordings. It is much easier to use than directly accessing the NVR.

    Dead Dahua NVR

Thanks, I actually don't think it is the drives because I had a second unit awaiting the deployment of additional cams, so I put the drives in there and that unit is running fine with the old drives.

    Dead Dahua NVR

I went to check on our security cameras the other day and when I looked at it, none of the lights were lit to indicate anything was being recorded. They are motion activated but it was the middle of the day so it was really unusual that nothing was recording. All other lights seemed normal. I...

Software to review Dahua hardware NVR footage?

We've had a problem and I need to review footage recorded on our Dahua NVR. The few times I've used it, I found it pretty clunky to use, and I'm worried how long this will take given the interface and that I might have to go through a couple weeks of footage. Plus it is in the server room and...

    24hr clinic ip cam monitoring

I wanted to follow up on this thread in case anyone ever wanders in this thread in the future. I got our security cam system partially deployed (still have some additional less important cameras to deploy), but for now I've got 7 cameras that I want to show on the TV and then another 3 that I...

    Dahua UL listing

The electrical inspector today told our GC that he would be looking for UL stickers on the security cameras as well. I've seen at least one other reference to this on another forum and from what I can tell, it is the luck of the draw on both the inspector and the vicinity and I just happen to be...

    Dahua UL listing

That is actually a good idea, I can wait to deploy the NVRs and just use the cams with a PC for now. I have a PoE switch for our phone system that will have extra ports on it that I can plug the cams into. Thanks! I really didn't want to have to start from scratch in identifying different hardware.

    Dahua UL listing

As background, we have a clinic under construction and I have planned to deploy 16 Dahua IP cams wth 2 Dahua 4216-8P NVRs. I just received one NVR today to start getting familiar with it. We recently started hearing from others who have opened clinics that their certificates of occupancy were...

    24hr clinic ip cam monitoring

Thanks for that info, vector18. I think I'm going to try the fire tv and/or smart pss. The more I think about it, the more I don't really want to give them control over the NVR which will be kept in a secure room. Thanks.

    24hr clinic ip cam monitoring

That makes great sense, I will try the firetv first, that would be easiest (and cheapest). Thanks for the great advice!
