I never heard of this story ..

I had heard about this just after it happened. It was talked about on gun forums but never made it to TV or internet news outlets. Does not fit with the liberal ideologies.

Yeah 3 years ago it was even censored during Biden's installment Presidency...

I have about 150 rounds of 38 special that are over 20 years old and I don't own a 38 any more. Also over 150 rounds of more recent 38's. I called our city police dept for advice. They said they don't accept it and referred me to gatling.biz but they only accept ammo if it is related to a firearm pickup. Any ideas on getting rid of this ammo? I could put it on Nextdoor and they would come out with protest signs at my house.

Neighbors, friends or family?

Local gun range, that might have somebody who will shoot it, or if like my range has a disposal for live ammo.
Your local waste management. A lot of places have safe disposal places there as well.

I believe I have found a local shooting range that will accept it, thanks!

That is going to be a hard one.... It may come down to the specifics in the way the law is written there. When I had my Enhanced CC class, the instructor said that deadly force can be used in SD to protect property-- including property OUTSIDE your home. I am not sure I would want to "test" his interpretation of SD law....

Its fairly simple. If you enjoy your freedom, time with family, your lifestyle, friends, your home, etc.
Don't shoot at people over stuff.
Even if you are vindicated in court, the financial damage is already done.
