I have 3 of these - IPC-HDW5231R-Z - mounted under my soffits on my current home. I would like to take them with me. What I don't want to do is leave huge holes in the soffits for the next owner, but replacing the soffit is not an option. I'm sure someone here has been through this before and I thought I might ask and see what others have done.

I'll see if I can get those sometime this afternoon after work. FWIW - it's a vinyl soffit - I used a paddle bit to drill the middle hole (which I can't remember what size it was, but it was whatever the sticker/template that comes with those cameras is) - and then I have 3 screws holding the mount plate through the soffit into a piece of block wood I mounted above the soffit.

Get some aluminum tape. The type with real aluminum and adhesive backing. Auto
parts places have it. Clean the surface very well. It sticks incredibly well. Cover
your holes and paint over with the correct color. I have some patches like that that
are over 30 years old.

That's a good suggestion - thanks - I will definitely consider that one.

I was also thinking about seeing if I could find a snap in plug the size of the paddle bit at home depot and then painting over it as well.

If you can't find the right size plug at the typical places, try Graingers.

From my post #3 back in Feb. of this year ==>> here.

Push-in plugs at Grainger's ==>> here.

I think that Home Depot has 'em too, in the hardware section in those pull-out drawers with cotter pins, clasp pins, set screws, shelf support pins, etc.

Thank you! I bought some at HD the other day for some other holes, and you're right - we're in the pull out drawers :)
