IP Camera added to HDVR is found and added by DVR but has perpetual "parameter" error

I've been trying to figure this one out for a while - I hope someone here can show me the light.

I have an installed Tribrid DVR: Hikvision HDVR3204-1080P2U (which is branded as eyespypro.com)
There are 2 x 4TB WD Purple hard disks installed

This DVR has been working great with a collection of 15 analog cameras for over a year.

I am now adding an IP camera - also by Hikvision - a Fixed Dome, Model: DS-2CD2142FWD-I (no CH in the serial) - all Hikvision original packaging

Individual installation of the camera was flawless and it works nicely on its own

I am attempting to add it as a 16th camera to the DVR, which accommodates Analog, IP, and TVI cameras.

On the DVR, itself, I go to the "Add IP Camera" section of the menu and the camera shows up in the list, then I click on the Add icon.
Then, I click on Edit settings for the camera and input the username and password established when I setup the camera.

There is a yellow warning triangle under the Status column and when I click it, the following message is displayed:

"Resolution or bitrate has reached the limit"

In the Hikvision iVMS-4200 Interface I can see the camera added as IP camera D1 with a status of:

"Offline (Parameter Error)"

As an IT administrator I can troubleshoot almost anything, but in this case I have limited information to go on - there is nothing in the manuals
I've seen that can tell me exactly how to deal with this. It seems simple, like lowering the bitrate/resolution or making sure the hard disks can handle it,
but I am not getting it to work by playing with those settings. Troubleshooting from hikvision is ridiculous and their website will not even acknowledge
the existence of this DVR - even though it is Hikvision. Its a 32-channel DVR, which are definitely not as common from what I've seen.

I'm very good technically, but not an expert in camera systems and need to get this going, so I would appreciate any help I can get!

Did you lower the camera to 1080p? Within the camera itself

Yes, there are 3 options within the resolution configuration for the camera itself:
1280x720P
1920x1080P
2688x1520

I tried the 2 lower resolutions with no effect.

The interface for the DVR has no settings options for the IP cameras - only for analog

Make sure the camera is set to h.264 not 264+ or 265. Also, have you tried lowering the frame rate?

The default frame rate is 20 and I lowered it to 16, 10, and 1 just to see and it didn't make a difference.

I'm going to try rebooting the DVR later on (can't right now) and see what happens.

This is my configuration:

I would say you have a DS-7332HQHI-SH. Only 4/8/16ch on Hikvision's web page, but I think there is also 24/32ch models (which as you say, they are not common).

The datasheet and user manual should help you and be good for your unit.

And you have not purchased a Hikvision DVR, you have a rebranded unit; you should not be expecting support from Hikvision, but from eyespypro, or whoever sold it to you.

No, unfortunately ... I thought of trying another camera model, but the IP cameras I'm using are the same manufacturer as the DVR (Hikvision).

The DVR has ZERO information or support on the Hikvision site and at this time the link above (http://www.hikvision.com/europe/Products_accessries_364_i6367.htm)
gives a 404 not found error. Eyespypro is a tiny company in Orange County, CA. and I can't imagine they have the power to have a special Hikvision model created just for
them, but I decided to give up on the IP cameras with this DVR and not call Eyespypro. I'm sure the guy there will be able to steer you towards a camera that works with
what he sells, but it's not that important to me to have IP cameras at this time and Eyespypro is kind of expensive.

You might try upgrading the camera firmware - if possible - to see if that works, but I can tell you from experience that I cannot find a firmware upgrade for the DVR
to save my life and I don't really want to try it with a model that's "close" to mine because an upgrade to non-matching firmware will kill the DVR for good.

I decided to replace the really old analog cameras with Honic HD cameras from Amazon - they are analog and require a special AC power supply with a DC 12volt converter
on the camera end (I have to do long distances and you can only do that with AC power unless you are using POE with the IP cameras) - but for monitoring purposes they are really great at $43.

If I ever do find a fix I will post it.

BTW: My IP cameras are DS-2CD2142FWD-I (2.8mm) - they have the Hikvision logo and other markings, but I heard that Amazon sometimes ends up with imitations (the Chinese are
aggressively cloning things and passing them off as genuine) and with those you can't even do a firmware upgrade.

Yeah, mine are
Hikvision 4MP DS-2CD2142FWD-I HD WDR IP Network Dome 2.8mm Lens .

I reached out to the support that Amazon offered, its through another company and I have yet to write them back. This is very frustrating. Not sure how far you got, but I have these IP cameras running on HIK-Connect. It's just the NVR that will not recognize them.

Having the same issue with this error with a Hik doorbell and LTS NVR. Anyone ever find a solution?

Update: Just incase anyone stumbles upon here, I did find a solution that worked for me. I first had to reflash my EZViz DB-1 with the LaView firmware which adds ONVIF, using the BatchConfig tool. Then iVMS-4200 was able to see the doorbell, and I was able to use the Remote Configuration tool to change the bitrate from Variable to a constant 1024kb. I had tried playing with the frame rates and video sizes but didn't seem to have the same effect as lowering the bitrate. Once I switched to the lower bitrate, my LTS NVR was able to view the image from the doorbell, and remotely record which was my primary goal. Motion detection still doesn't work well, but remote recording and viewing alongside my other LTS cameras were top priority for my use.

Thanks to all who post here as I would have never stumbled upon the solution on my own without lots of helpful suggestions from the community.

Hi had the same problem 2 yeas later....

found a solution. you need to enter the camera by using the ip address on your browser. just like entering a router. video settings and bitrate changes can be made from there. Connect the camera to the internet and then using the browser to access more video settings. I lower the resolution and max bitrate allowed. and I was able to use a dome cam with hikvision 4 channel dvr. otherwise same problem with maxout bitrate and no picture for the ipcam.

The password and user are all factory standards.
