No motion event markers in Hikvision mobile apps ?

Hi everybody,

Unfortunately I cannot find a button in both apps (Hik-Connect / iVMS4500) to enable the motion event markers like I can do in the Hikvision NVR playback interface.

Is there indeed no way to enable these markers ? Otherwise that would be a pity because it would made it very time-consuming or nearly impossible to search for motion events in the entire timeline of recording.

Thanks in advance for any help

Or record on motion :)
But that is not what i'm looking for unfortunately ;-) For example the QNAP Qvr solution can do both, also the mobile app, but my qnap hardware is not powerful enough for smooth operation.

I'm missing the red markers in the mobile apps like on the screenshot below (captured on the web interface from the Hikvision NVR):

I can not even find it in IVMS-4200 for PC.

slowly but surely i regret already have bought Hikvision Hardware or at least the NVR :wtf: from time to time I discover new illogical points or missing features.

The only way I have found to show the event markers on IVMS4500 is to add the camera as a device directly to the app. For this to work each camera needs a separate storage location to store the event recordings. I have set up a separate network shares where each of my cams store event recordings. When I call up any camera directly in IVMS4500, the playback timeline shows only the event markers.

With the camera connected to the NVR, the continuous recordings and events would continue to be stored on the NVR but with the separate network store for each camera, a copy of the event will be stored on the network share where it can be searched and played back independently.

I agree that seems that this is functionality that should be readily available on the NVR without this sort of messing about.

I am using Hik-Connect monitoring 5 cameras and have the motion events, I select which camera, then touch the 3 dots in the top right corner, then playback, select the date, then flick my thumb up from the bottom of the screen and events are there, EZVIZ also has events.cam2l.jpg

Maybe that would be the last possibility I would try, but unfortunately not really professional for a such product :-(

Thanks for your reply.

That's very interesting, in my case, nothing happens when I swiped my thumb from the bottom of the screen, I only move the timeline of the continuous record at this moment :-(

But do you record also via an NVR in continuous mode or only events ? And do you imported also only the NVR itself into Hik-Connect and then you chose there your desired camera playback over the NVR ? I don't know if you understand what I mean ;-)

Hi Bjorn

I am running 5 cameras on a DS-7616NI-K2/16P 12tb hdd system, set only to record 'events', I downloaded and installed EZVIZ (Hikvision app) and also Hik-Connect app, logged in, and both apps show me the live view and the event bar is available. When I want to check anything it is getting the data directly from the NVR and then sending it to the app. I am not getting anything directly from the cameras, everything is coming from the NVR. I don't remember having to do any special settings I just selected ''Hik-Connect'' in the NVR menu interface in my connected monitor. I am not in the UK at the moment so cannot physically check the NVR interface but I would think the setting must be from the NVR side possibly the substream setting.

You are not seeing event markers, you are seeing motion recordings, since you only record on motion. The OP is recording continuously and therefore sees a continuous timeline.

I didn't know this. So if you record continuously using ivms, sd or an NVR there will not be event markers? Another reason to use BI!

They were always present on the local output of the NVR. They are also available in the web interface as shown in post 4 (though I dont think that was always the case and there was a firmware update that provided this function at some point). This issue is specific to ivms4500 connected to an NVR.

Ahh okay, that makes sense. I only use the local NVR or web interface so that explains it.

Thanks John,

That's probably the difference between your setup and mine, that you're recording only on motion/event detection and I record in continuous mode AND motion/event detection together.

Thanks for your answer fenderman.

So, that will mean, there is no proper Hikvision-solution for my problem with the Hik-Connect app an the motion markers on a continuous recording ? :wtf:
I thought I informed myself enough before I decided to buy Hik Vision products, but I didn't expect this kind of annoying problem.

not if you stream from the NVR, as I understand it, though I dont use any standalone NVR for this reason. There are much better options for recording, using software based vms.

okay, that's annoying, finally I waste money for a solution that doesn't satisfy my needs :banghead:

However, could you provide me the name of this software based solution(s) please ? So I can take at least a look at this

This is a major flaw in the hik connect app, it’s driving me insane trawling through continuous recording on the app. If they don’t update soon I’m going to have to start installing a different brand. Anyone know a brand that can record continuously and have motion/event markers on the phone based app?

Wowow I came here with the same question and I’m so dissapointed right now.

On my NVR, when I go to playback recording, I see the full continuous recording and the event markers. As soon as I click and event market, I can see who walked by or what motion took place.

On the app, there’s no way to do that.. this is a big flaw.. what if I’m in the office and want to see what kind of activity took place.. I won’t be able to.. this really sucks.
