Most of the cams will be under wood siding. We're going to pull it indoors so I wanted to look for outdoor rated AND CMR
but having troubles looking for this.

1. Is this needed?

Even Monoprice doesn't though General CAble has one which is Cat5e

2. I have got the cams thanks to EmpiretechAndy (thumbs up) - but have no mounting equipment, or cables set up or a PC for BI!

To test it, can I plug it directly into the router

Thanks.

@Alan Carter - you'll need some basic connectivity to use your cam. they can't be plugged in and tested directly into your router. To power them up, you need a PoE switch or an injector, at a minimum.

Thanks @SouthernYankee - Thanks for the link - going now

@xmfan thanks also

I see where're closer in the journey - although you're 3 steps ahead which is great and inspirational! :D

I'm finalizing my purchases these next two days. I might need an extra cam, but the money is really piling up.
