It seems my ds-7608ni-e2 is at the end up it supported shelf life, so I am wondering if I can just get a newer motherboard and slap it in the existing case?

I had to open the case up since the unit started beeping ( guessing the HD is going bad ) so I am doing a low level WD uty format and then I will try it starting it up again before I go out and order another 4TB HD, but looking inside the motherboard is like 8" x 6" and I thought maybe I can just find a fewer model motherboard and swap out, and so here I am asking the pro's..

Can it be done and if so where should I look for a newer model replacement MB

Thanks,

Just a newer board that could fit in the unit, what's options are there?

I've done this on a QVIS DVR, where the boards are manufactured by Xiongmaitech and also used by lots of OEMs, but I suspect that getting your hands on a Hikvision NVR board would be optimistic as they design their own, so the mechanical layout will be Hikvision-specific.

**edit**
Example : Hangzhou Xiongmai Technology Co.,LTD.-PRODUCTS
They are all very cheap ...
