What camera are you running at your front door? I would like it mounted around the 6’ mark. Show me some install pics and snapshots if you have them! I am running a Empire Tech NVR and Empire Tech cameras. Thanks!!

For a doorbell camera, the "go to" still seems to be the Reolink POE Doorbell camera.

For just a regular camera, I think the T54IR-AS (version 3) is a great choice. (Amazon Link)

The full time color cameras struggle with close focusing, so I don't think they would be the best choice for a front door camera.

Since the Identify would only be <10’, would you recommend a 2.8 or 3.6?
It depends on the mounting location. 3.6 is basically a 90 degree FOV, so if it is going it a corner it is a great option. The 2.8 has a 113 degree FOV, so if it is being mounted on the same wall as the entrance door and you need the widest view possible, then it is a better option.

I’m using an active deterrence cam from Andy. It has two-way talk (like walkie talkie), but I’m practically never using it. The good thing is the IVS activated led that makes people notice the camera. Some start to feel uncomfortable and look towards the way they came from - looking to another camera

The LED is also handy for having easily some extra light when coming home, to find the correct key etc. The cam is in corridor mode, so it also watches the packages dropped by the door.

I also have an 5442T-ZE looking back at the front door, so I also capture people leaving the door. Would still like to add something with even tighter field of view. Or perhaps something recording tighter facial shot when entering the yard through an opening in the fence

I mounted a 5441 (BoobieCam) at my front door. One pointed at the door and one at the entrance from the street. It does face detection 24/7 on both channels. Had to drop the FPS to 5 due to an underpowered SoC.

Detailed the install (including changing the lenses) here.
