Hi everybody, just wondering does cat 5 come in different standards or quality of cable. I,ve got some pretty cheap flimsy cat 5 cable. Just wondering if that affects the cameras quality /speed anything like that

Yes. There is CCA, stranded, solid, etc. and the cheaper stuff can have trouble passing POE.

Insure the jacket is rated for the application: the most commonly used is CMR (Riser) for use in walls, attics, ceilings, crawl spaces and between floors; use CMP (Plenum) for use in plenum spaces such as purposed for ventilation, A/C ducting and cold air returns. In a pinch, the more expensive CMP can be used where CMR is suitable but not vice-versa.
