Replacing 11-year-old poe Swann System

We are going to replace our Swann NVR-7250 with eight poe camera with a new system and would like recommendations. I don't mind if the cameras need to be from the same manufacturer as the NVR and I don't mind putting together a system if I can get a better NVR and better cameras not buying a package. I really like that our Swann system doesn't require a monthly fee but I don't like their app. Thanks for suggestions.

I am a big fan of Dahua and Blue Iris which was recommended by members here after I came looking for Hikvision and a NVR. The system has been rock solid.

Thanks! I'm reading through the article "the Importance of Focal Length over MP in Camera Selection" right now. I think that will help us narrow down what we're after when it comes to cameras. With the NVR, I want to have as much AI recognition as possible. I'm not sure if that's part of the NVR or the cameras. Quality is more a concern than price.
