My name is Bobby and I'm from NJ. I have a system that I'm not very happy with. I'm going to post in the proper forum to see if I need to learn more or if it is my system that is not very good.

Welcome.

Lorex is a consumer brand system that is usually too many MP on too small a sensor.

We have many members here that started with Lorex and found this site because they were underwhelmed with their performance.

See this thread for the commonly recommended cameras (along with Amazon links) based on distance to IDENTIFY that represent the overall best value in terms of price and performance day and night.

Welcome @Bobbyn

Which system do you have ?
What aspects are causing you concern ?

In general, complete systems kits sold at low price points have more affordable cameras with wide FOVs which do not do as well as custom selecting cameras for the positions / views you want. Often, I recommend people expect to augment any complete system kit with a couple better cameras for the most critical view(s).

When you need cameras fast and you don’t know much about them, a Lorex package gets you up and running quick. You can do better when you spend some time learning, but sometimes you don’t have the luxury of time, so no shame for buying the Lorex.
