Upgrading my machine - P cores and E cores?

Well I never did order that stuff, life got in the way. My machine has taken almost a complete dump, having all sorts of stability issues

Troubleshooting is not worth it on a machine this old and cobbled together

Ordered

  • Intel Core i5-14400 > Replaces i7 8700K
  • 32GB DDR5 6000Mhz > Replaces mismatched 4 x 4GB DDR4
  • 2 x Toshiba Enterprise 16TB to replace 2 old disks - New config will be 2 x 16TB SATA and 2 x 12TB SATA
  • Noctua NH-L9x65 CPU Cooler (Should fit in my 2u chassis) > Replaces Supermicro heatsink that is similar to Intel Stock
  • MSI PRO Z790-P Motherboard > Replaces old Gigabyte B360M D3H

And I already have the following ready for the upgrade

  • Intel 980 500GB NVMe SSD > Replaces old 256GB M.2 SATA
  • Mellanox Connectx-3 10Gb NIC > Replaces Intel i350-T4

The LSI 9207-8i will get ditched entirely, as I think it has problems too
 
I'm upgrading my system. I want it to be a little less botched together so I will go for a bigger board with more PCI-E and some better features

I'm looking at a new intel build, and a lot of the CPU's have P cores and E cores. Does this benefit Blue Iris at all?

I am not using sub streams, and often my CPU get hit 100 when multiple people are live viewing cameras in UI3 and viewing recording at the same time, etc

I like to tinker, so a new build sounds like fun to me. :)
Yeah the i5-4590 was a good machine. But it didn't support my Nvidia GTX1060.
A new intel board will offer support for USB C and other things perhaps like Bluetooth etc,
Sounds like a fun winter project.
get the P type processor.
 
When the new machine is up, I may increase my FPS too, to make playback a bit more smooth
 
When it rains, it pours. Boot SSD also wearing out! Good job I'm replacing it

Im currently looking for a older Mobo+cpu+ram combo . looking to upgrade my old sim racer's i7 2600K. cpu water cooler should bolt right up. Let me know if your selling :)

The 4th gen DDR Memory available to run on 8700 is much faster than what was available 2600. if you look at only the processor, your not seeing the other benefits.
