Main camera differences

I have used the comparison tool and looked at spec sheets. What is the main differences in DS-2CD2687G2HT-LIZS and DS-2CD2683G2-IZS.

To a novice, I do not see much different.

Min. IlluminationColor: 0.0028 Lux @ (F1.2, AGC ON),0 Lux with light VS Min. IlluminationColor: 0.005 Lux @ (F1.6, AGC ON),B/W: 0 Lux with IR

The first one will perform a lot better in night scenarios than 2nd one. It is a new hybrid model which does have standard IR + white light for color mode. You can switch between modes.

I would not recommend 2.8 for 8MP , hell not even for 4MP anymore.
1/1.8 is also not as good for 8MP as it is for 4MP, best case scenario would be 1/1.2 for 8MP

If you are patient, theres new series of colorvu 3.0 and darkfighter 2.0 coming out aka G3 cameras, they perform even better during the night times.

Thank you. I had ordered the DS-2CD2687G2HT-LIZS model as it looked to be a bit better.

I do not need it as much for night a I do for day use.

How long before the G3 cameras come out?
 
It seems they are released. It all depends on distributers when will they order. Once ordered usually takes 2 months to reach Europe. Don't know for the other parts of world.

Do you have a model number? Does this have it?

I can’t seem to find Colorvu 3.0 in its description

If it have G3 in name and ends with 7, like in your case "2647" it will be ColorVu3.0

if its G2 and ends with 7, then its ColorVu 2.0
