URGENT!!! There will be new DMSS 2.0 and new cloud account mode & new cloud video streaming

I was able to do this today just fine without setting up an account. Not positive what I did, but on a new clients phone, when app was persisting on using a login, I just tapped the "+" button in the upper right hand corner to add the device as usual.

I can confirm this, just tested in a phone which did not had DMSS installed previously. Installed it from play store and could add device without logging in. "Maybe later" was there - as it should.

Today - maybe later
6 months- you really need to
12 months- do it or lose access
6 more months- that will be $8.99 p/mo

Is there an iPad friendly version of DMSS?

I downloaded the app but it shows as the portrait size of a phone.

Thank you MC

I’ve got it working on a new iPad.

I’m still using the older app on my phone (before the new version)

I’m a little confused. I don’t really want to make an account. Can someone clarify, is live view achievable without making an account (like it was before the update?) Will alerts and notifications still work?

Is DMSS the only option if you have dahua nvr and cameras?

It should.

Some have had luck with the Amcrest app..

There will be no going back to local mode from what I am hearing from Dahua distribution partners in the UK. The security companies are not pushing back at all

So would that mean you would have to sign into the Dahua account to access your NVR from DMSS?

Can’t add it using the local LAN IP?

Unclear

They either don't know better, don't care, or hope it turns into subscription services they can sell.

Local ip/domain should be ok. Also as I wrote in my post 26th of march, DMSS still gives a possibility to add S/N P2P device when not logged in - it just first asks to log in, but gives a possibility to skip it with "maybe later".

So local IP with a vpn client on phone would still work.

P2P, unless they discontinue P2P without a login …

Usually a "maybe later" means it will be forced later....

Why would Dahua Dist Partners be in favor?
They see the revenue stream? I guess I was thinking Dahua directly would profit from subs..?

From what I am hearing, there is that aspect, but the installers including myself have no interest in their DoLynk Care data collection service. I'm expected to now pay 100's every year so Dahua can force me into their full Eco system as well as my customers. Its a disgrace. Security regulators should be controlling this trend
