Review-Dahua/EmpireTech Dual lens IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 (The Boobie Cam Upgrade)

Hello everyone,

Could someone confirm me I can safely flash the latest firmware from Dahua ( )
DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_E2_V2.840.0000000.30.R.250227

Or should I only be using the latest from Andy?

I just bought one of these from Andy and would like to know about the firmware versions as well.

The firmware files referenced on Andy's site are as @Dellatino noted.

The version in the camera I just got appears to be newer: V2.840.15OG00G.0.R, Build Date: 2024-08-07

Perhaps @EMPIRETECANDY can comment.

* I flashed the new ones, no issues but I'm still an idiot in regards to the configuration

* Blue iris is ok; Synology can only find 1 of the 2 cams; I thought I had a blended view once (both of them together in 1) but I don't seem to be able to do that anymore. Despite the new firmware and the option to combine them in 1 stream according to the configuration.

Best regards,
Z

@Dellatino - just to make sure I understand, when you say "new ones" you mean DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_E2_V2.840.0000000.30.R.250227 available from the firmware tab on ?

latest firmware from Dahua ( Dahua Technology - World-leading Video-centric AIoT Solution and Service Provide )
DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_E2_V2.840.0000000.30.R.250227

Thanks for that.

Hopefully last question: The zip file contains two bin files:
DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_E2_V2.840.0000000.30.R.250227.bin
firmware.bin
The first one is about 66 mb and the second (firmware.bin) is about 25 mb.
Did you apply both of these?

I have older Dahua cameras and have only ever had a single bin file for an upgrade.

See the last post in this thread for an attempt to answer this correctly: Correct sequence for firmware update?

See the rest of the thread for advice in regards to no firmware upgrades and why.

Are you saying the new firmware makes these like a 180 camera?

I thought I had a blended view once (both of them together in 1) but I don't seem to be able to do that anymore. Despite the new firmware and the option to combine them in 1 stream according to the configuration.

The configuration gives you the option to put both cams in 1 stream, I recall it worked a few years ago when I just got them, I haven't been able to do that since. Despite the newer firmware and the options still being there, I haven't managed to do it.

So no, I can't confirm it works. See camera settings > video > sub stream 2 config > output mode > splicing vs single stream

Thank you, Can you explain what you mean by 1 stream with these cameras?
