Notes from the Swamp

No idea. Some of the tournaments they have on our chain of lakes are National
I see. So, they have permission to fish in these communities then. I guess it would be kind of rude if they were unknown people fishing in community resident's back yards. But then again, the waterways are probably property of the development, so they can rent them out for events. Mo money!

Our Harris chain of lakes connects all the way to Jacksonville via the St Johns. Public water.
All wateways are owned/controlled by Sgt Johns River Authority I believe. They could camp out in my dock and as long as they arent on land they're free to do as they please.

friends of the swamp from across the pond .. and south a bit

Day before yesterday we had some tree work done front and back. $800. Quite reasonable.

We agreed to leave a tall branch on the camphor tree out front alone because it would make the tree look lopsided.

Yesterday, a truck driver decided we were wrong. (He also decided the people two doors down didn't really need cable)

Hopefully they’ll cover the cost of the prior days work plus the replacement cost of a comparable tree for the front? I’m not really in to this lawsuit happy world we’re in but damn sometimes people need to be held accountable for their stupidity. Clearly your road is not capable of handling a truck of that size, I mean I’ve seen videos of people struggling with a golf cart on that corner.

They weren’t going to do anything until I called and got some VP on the phone and advised that I had great video, (sent him a snippet) and that they would be famous.

He said they’ll be out in the morning to clean it up and pay me for my trouble.

I didn’t ask for $ just clean up as we no longer have yard waste pickup and have to haul it to the county dump.

The fact they weren't going to do anything would piss me off to no ends. Along with the fact that driver didn't even bother to ring your doorbell, ask for advice, do SOMETHING but be a complete moron.

Back to my first point of they weren't going to do anything. That would make me demand a monetary value of the tree, the damage that was caused by the truck, the fact the driver did a hit and run, my time and anything else I could think of.

In other words, $50,000 or I'm calling the police and DOT for the hit and run, then to my attorney which just doubled if not tripled the cost you're going to pay me.

F those idiots.
