Got a PTZ-camera Hikvision Hiwatch DS-P2420 PTZ-camera from a client. Had some symptoms ealier, camera went unresponsive and only way to get it running again was using SADP and activate it again and putting all the settings in. It worked well for months, but then after reboot camera went...

IP Camera showing no tx - rx link after lighting spike

Upside down, damn't..... But you get the picture. The camera doesnt work. Pins 12, 36 show open towards the camera. It's a ptz camera but all poe cameras look the same on this meter. It's DOA, will not power up via poe. It will power up via the 12v connector but has no activity on the test...

    NVR losing static IP-address

It's correct that the NVR internal switch uses the 10.1.1.X subnet for the PoE camera's. This always has been the case and never changed. I am not familiar with the Bridge Mode switch button on any switch. I assume you mean the Dahua NVR bridge mode which I need to search for. Haven't heard of...

    NVR losing static IP-address

Ok, well that adds questions as the PoE ports on the NVR by default use the NVR internal switch and a separate secure subnet of 10.1.1.x So you changed the subnet on the internal switch to match your LAN IP range? This has been known to create problems. Or did you toggle the “Bridge mode”...

...the 8 channel NVR, assign unique, static IP to the cameras and both NVR LANs, all in the same subnet, all connected to the same switch (a POE switch if needed). Example: CAMERA 1 (192.168.1.101) => SWITCH 1 CAMERA 2 (192.168.1.102) => SWITCH 1 NVR 1 LAN (192.168.1.103) => SWITCH 1 NVR 2 LAN...

Decode error when connect to RTSP camera streams

Hi, I encountered a problem connecting to RTSP camera streams through NVR's IP address. The device is on the same local network (192.168.0.xxx). I use the following URL to connect to the main & sub-streams of the cameras using OpenCV: rtsp:/USER_NAME:PASSWORD@NVR_IP:554/Streaming/Channels/101...

CodeProject.ai with License Plate Reader module - HowTo?

An enlargement of the plate is going to look granular because you're enlarging just a small part of the picture. Effectively you're digital zooming for which the tehnical explanation is you're reducing the pixel density and thus the definition as there are less pixels per square inch. Try...

This camera is attached to an external switch correct? Not using the NVR built in PoE ports?

    P3255 Mid Span requirements

I'll try a std POE + injector and see if that works. We do have a POE switch used to power WiFi kit but its not POE + and there is no room for another hence why we are using an injector. Cable run is only around 8 mtrs.

    P3255 Mid Span requirements

That camera has very modest power requirements. You shouldn't need anything too powerful. Class 4 Poe is around the 15-25watt mark. A standard poe+ switch will power it ok. Are you using a non Poe switch and why are you using a midspan?. How long is the cable run?

    PoE surge protection.

Thanks for sharing. I guess you're an example of someone having pretty good SPD setup. I'd also love to hear of experiences of people with less than ideal setups. Hopefully living in places with lots of lightning and highly charged rain. To explain what I mean by highly charged rain consider...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

So this is starting to point more towards a camera issue... What I've done: New RJ45 ends, both sides cam and switch. Factory hard reset 3 times. Still can't connect, illumination lights on camera are on. No green light on port on switch. Switch ports on switch to a know good port. Remove a...

    NVR question

As mat200 said above, "not possible". An 8 channel POE NVR is limited to 8 cameras whether they are connected to the NVR's POE ports or to an external POE switch and to the NVR's LAN; respectively, same with a 16, 32 or 64 channel.

POE Switch but for wider operating temperatures? (mount in the uninsulated attic)

Perle is a maker of industrial ethernet switches. They claim 75c as within spec. https://www.perle.com/products/switches/industrial-ethernet-switch.shtml I’d look for a cheap old server switch with a fan and put it as close to a vent as you can. Try it and see how it does, and if it fries...

    PoE surge protection.

The vast majority of the general public have nothing as it relates to a SPD. People by their very nature are reactionary to things that happen. I use a combination of brands for different applications such as APC, Tripplight, Citel, Ditek, Siemens, Leviton, Pass & Seymour, etc It’s important...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

OK understood -- It did work for 7 or 8 hours today while I was at work. Is that typical of a wire issue, to go bad slowly? I can always pull the cam down again tomorrow and set it up on my test tombstone. Maybe I should change the other connector too -- On the switch end. I have no real way...

Dahua Nvr Denied to connect one camera

...generally can't handle all the video data going through it to get to the NVR. It can impede other router traffic like the family's smartphone, smart TV, Wi-Fi access point, etc. It's just best as I stated in post #3; run NVR to POE switch and POE switch (uplink if available) to router.

Dahua Nvr Denied to connect one camera

Why then I can see all other cameras and also access the specific camera from WiFi. The switch and nvr are in different locations so it's hard to connect nvr on the switch

Dahua Nvr Denied to connect one camera

This should not affect your issue, but..... The camera's POE switch should not go through the router to get to the NVR, instead run NVR to POE switch and POE switch (uplink if available) to router.

    Natural Gas Generators

I bought a 20,000kw from generac in 2011, The first thing I had to do was upgrade my Natural gas meter, something to check into. On natural gas it does 18,000KW . Natural Gas Generators

Well just had both my local Kohler and Generac dealer/electricians come out for a quote. Still waiting on both quotes. Kohler wants to do 26kw (I could probably size down to the 20kw) and the Generac dude wants to do a 24kw. These are the air cooled NG models. We will see how many zeros they...
