New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

All the other doorbells from Reolink both wifi and POE work great. I have the black POE one and had no issues setting it up at all. Plenty of others have the wifi ones and no issues. Now I decided to try the new white POE version with a different FOV and for some reason it’s being a bit of a...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

So I am using the WiFi version (Black), using the power from the existing Doorbell Transformer has had no problems. The WiFi reception has been good, better than the Hivision DB I had for 3 years. My EAP660 Access Point is presently in a bedroom/office on the opposite side of the house where...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Reolink has this comparison on their amazon product page: What an odd design choice. I had no idea why they chose to tie the FOV to the color . The black FOV seems to match what I get from my black Reolink POE doorbells, right down to the glorious pincushioning: I'm considering...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

It's literally the same settings as I set up the other one with and the other one worked great, no issues at all. This one with the exact same settings just gives me the camera no signal available error in BI. Also it's very slow (compared to all the other cams/doorbells I've tried) when doing...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I finally recieved the new Reolink doorbell and got it installed, but it's giving me some heartburn. First, I definitely do like the new format and the white looks nicer on my house since my trim is also white. The 3:4 ratio also works better to be able to see the full person standing at the...

New to CCTV - Can you give me an honest opinion on my plan please ?

Hi @Shaky In terms of sourcing : Many of us are purchasing Dahua OEM cameras from Andy @EMPIRETECANDY as he provides good customer service and quick shipping. In the USA, I found that compared to Dahua USA models sold by vendors, Andy's Dahua OEM model selection and prices can not be beat by...

...in the wrong place though, as judging by the comments I've received earlier, I was expecting them to be a LOT more expensive than the initial Reolink ones I was browsing over but the units I've looked at seem to be in the £120~£150 range or does that seem to be right to you guys ? If that is...

...IMO the use of wireless or extenders has proven to be problamatic to say the least, yet for some, it not only works, it works well, hence the reolink supporters, but the story ends there for them, for those of use that provide ongoing support (often reluctantly) we know this is not the end of...

I need recommendation for good wifi cameras for indoor and outdoor (and potentially door bell, door lock, flood lights, and garage door opener).

...have better ONVIF support for other stuff and will be able to work with other stuff later. If you plan to just go the app route, then go reolink as their app experience will be much better than Amcrest. If you think eufy is bad, try the apps from better cameras lol. The better cameras...

...to work so blocking the camera from the internet renders the camera useless... Ring will not work without internet access as an example. Reolink makes claims they are ONVIF compliant but most have found that they really do not play well with NVRs that are not Reolink. You can find posts...

Ring doesn't integrate with Home Assistant well it looks like. So far everything points to Reolink + HA + Frigate.

...concern -- I re 5k to go through multiple areas of solid concrete to get cables where they'd need to go. I was reading that cameras like Reolink support it and work fine with HA and other NVRs. Is that not true? My FW blocks any inbound requests to my cameras. My network configuration...

I need recommendation for good wifi cameras for indoor and outdoor (and potentially door bell, door lock, flood lights, and garage door opener).

Welcome @anchal I know of no security camera that meets your requirements. You will have to compromise someplace. If wifi is required, then the question is can you go with wired power? If you can not, then you will be very limited on what you can get. If UI is important then look at Ring...

...card to my computer without having to take the microSD card out. So some kind of remote access to the files on the camera. I was reading Reolink has this but I can't confirm it. I do have a Home Assistant box and I could add storage to it and use it as NVR. I don't need to do this -- it...

New to CCTV - Can you give me an honest opinion on my plan please ?

I say that based on all the underhanded shenanigans that Reolink has pulled over the yrs. Don't reward bad behavior. They are horrible as a company.

    Armcrest support is a joke

When you installed the Reolink unit, did you also install a Reolink-specific power adapter thingy? Or do the different doorbell-wiring-compatible cameras all use something similar/compatible?

Tried one of their 8 port POE switches and have no issues with either the build quality or functionality. Also trying out the Dahua 8 port POE switch. Looks like the same quality and functionality as best I can tell. As far as your ReoLink camera comment, I fully agree.....

I guess that is one of the main problems with the Reolink cameras then. Not good really I suppose as lowlight is more often than not when, shall we say most illegal activity would be taking place. Especially where I live as I'm on a small cul-de-sac with only 8 bungalows on it and there's 100%...

Reolink .. very good reasons why members dislike that company. If you need good lowlight performance you will need cameras built with better components, so you would need a larger budget. It really comes down to what you need and what your budget / affordability is. For me I spent a lot on...
