    Detecting wildlife with Dahua cameras

...mainly want video. I have a light pole about 75 feet from the feeder that I can mount a camera. I read where someone else mentioned ReoLink as a possible good camera for triggering wildlife. I realize in the grand scheme of security, they are not recommended. How about for wildlife. Would...

    DS-2CD2647G2T-LZS or IPC-B54IR-Z4E-S3

The 5442 all the way. The ColorVu doesn't see infrared, so your IR floodlight would be useless! It will blow away your Reolink. And not to say the 5442 won't attract spiders, but it will attract way less than the Ring of IR around the Reolink. I rarely have an issue of spider webs with my...

    DS-2CD2647G2T-LZS or IPC-B54IR-Z4E-S3

...is really important. I will likely not use the IR from the camera and instead use an IR flood light (tired of spiders). I have a bunch of Reolink (RLC510A) cams right now that I am going to replace. I obviously want good day time performance too. I've read good things about the Dahua 5442...

Welcome @numdi Any word back from Reolink ?

    Advice needed on adding cameras

First, when you get the 2 additional cameras be sure to stick with Reolink if you intend to use the Reolink NVR. Question about the 2 existing cameras in the detached building: since that Reolink NVR is a POE NVR, are those 2 cameras connected to a switch which is connected to the NVR's LAN...

    Advice needed on adding cameras

My current system is a Reolink RLK8-520D4-A with 6 cameras. This system is in the house with 4 cameras on the house and 2 in a detached building. I want to add a couple of cameras to the building for different areas that aren't covered now. I want to be able to view the cameras on the building...

hello every one I'm new here looking for answers or a fix for my camera set up.. I'm made a gamble to use reolink as my system to watch my auto shop.. I found out 7 days ago talking to tech support is almost a waste of time threw e-mail.. still waiting on answers so I have come here to maybe...

Coyote Went By The House With A Cat In Its Mouth

Damn dude. You should put up a Reolink camera for comedic comparison purposes. Those videos are sharp.

    PTZ with autotracking recommendations

...I paid for. Looking for a PTZ with zoomed autotracking. (I want it to zoom in on the target, full body). Right now I have Amcrest, Dahua and Reolink running under BlueIris5 cameras (10 cameras). (I want to stay with one of these brands) I may be cutting off the top of the tree so it has more...

...happens. Also what is with the push notifications that sometimes take 5 minutes to go through or never come in at all? I wouldn't rely on Reolink for anything including their cheap integrated AI. What good is it if the notifications don't fire when they are supposed to? Hik Connect is...

Solution to turn on and off Reolink (or any other app) notifications based on GPS location

I have two of these Tasker scripts that I use (made by a a Ukrainian friend who does code for cheap) to automate certain functions of the Reolink app, but if you know how to use tasker the app can be changed to anything. You will need Tasker, AutoNotification, and some common knowledge of both...

Google TV (Android TV) app for viewing RTSP streams

...you are responding to is almost a year and a half old and a lot of things have changed since then. Since I'm an apple user so I changed everything and now use Scrypted to display my cameras via AppleTV so I don't have any configuration to share. Have you tried the reolink integration for HA?

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Glad they are selling Chimes, only for V2 though, correct?

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Chimes arrived Monday. I plugged them both in, and pairing was quick and simple. Both are working. Props to Reolink to allow the pairing procedure entirely from within the app, e.g. I didn't have to walk outside to press the buttons!

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

After setup you may consider CPAI in BI, to detect persons. I have mind setup to send me alerts on my phone through Home Assistant App only when a person is detected. So far almost zero false alerts. Every once in awhile a bug will get too close and fool the AI, mainly at night.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I figured it out but that is one of the least of my concerns. As much as I despise Reolink, the Hikvision doorbell is complete junk. I ranted more about it in this post. It is something that you would have to have set up on blue iris. You literally have to reset the device if you want to...

City Camera Install Plan - First Timer

After considering the advice above (apparently for the past year since I last posted), I finally ordered a 4k-T180, a Reolink POE doorbell and junction boxes to mount my existing 5442T-ZE camera and the 4k-T180. I built a quick test rig from cinderblocks and 2x4s to evaluate mounting locations...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

FYI on the DS-HD1 you could turn off the motion beep noise in the App. Is there not an option in the App on the DS-HD2?

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

BI can send focus in/out commands to my RLC-423, but the focus implementation is so bad, an the latency is so large, that it's effectively useless. So I "focus" my camera by hitting the Zoom in/out button for a quick click. This triggers another autofocus cycle, and that occasionally works.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

...not happy with that either as there is NO webGUI and it makes a beep noise every time you walk by it which can NOT be disabled! At least Reolink's doorbell was a solid product, it's just their reddit group is ran by douchebags and their app is bloated with stupid crap. I think I am just...

What are the best IP cameras in the 300-400 range.

I compared the Z4, Z12 and a PTZ for identify at 60 feet in this video. They are all good choices but I would go with the Z4 if I had to pick one. Side-by-side comparison of Dahua Z4, Z12, mini PTZ and a Reolink.

    User-friendly NVR and remote viewing?

Oh I've had much effort put forth over years. It works. The direct attached experience is far better than the mobile access options. and that's where I'd like to see improvements. Specifically, the event thumbnails are excellent - but only accessible in the direct access view.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

A huge part of my motivation for trying out the alternative chime was because Reolink wasn’t selling extra chimes separately. That problem appears to be fixed: https://www.amazon.com/Reolink-Chime-Compatible-Doorbell-Multiple/dp/B0CYGP6P1P it doesn’t specifically say 915 MHz, but it says it’s...

    Heating of Dahua IP cameras

FWIW, this from a post I made June 29, 2023: Speaking of the Reolink doorbell, this is the 4th day in a row of temps in the low to mid 90's here, the afternoon sun hitting the one at my side door and raising its temp to 151°F....hasn't missed a beat yet.
