You need a 12v indeed and if you buy Noctua you get one or two silencers which make the fans spin slower. It's definitely not quiet after this upgrade as the design of the case implies fan noise but it is an improvement: Be sure to measure + and - as mine were reversed on my Dahua NVR

Something like a Noctua Fan has an assortment of connectors. I assume you'll be able to unplug the original fan and plug a new one in. The other methods are more involved.

I have replace the fan's in my Hikvision with Noctua's also. There is one in the power supply and another mounted on the case next to the main board. Night and day difference.
