How to Fix Drive Issue: Overallocated

What a bummer. While I'm not in touch with WD's overall reliability I'll thrown in the standard disclaimer that every manufacturer makes a few lemons occasionally. My 2 TB WD purple drive has been flawless for 7 years, and a newer 10 TB non-purple drive is doing well so far. I think you can...

    Dahua naming system - lost

This is old but might help some. You list of 19 models doesn't even include the black ones that add a "B" to the end part.

Hacked DAHUA cam and added that names

Agree, but doesn't this also apply to tailscale and zerotier as well as any other P2P provider?

    Progressive Liberal Hypocrisy

Another liberal wacko "journalist" who spews accusations about things she doesn't understand or is able to back up. Her bio says she's written columns for Wall Street Journal, NY Times, and Die Welt. That in itself tells the story.

Mini-Review - EmpireTech IPC-TPC124XB-AI-S2 Thermal Network Mini Hybrid Bullet Camera

I have exactly the same situation with a few camera positions. The obvious solution is to have the thermal camera side-by-side with a 4k-x or 5442 in every camera position. Triple your camera count! My thermal camera and a T180 are facing each other, about 100' apart. The thermal camera...

end trigger if not re-triggered within - short clips

What fixed my short clip problem was changing in the registry: Cameras\<camera name>\Alerts\<profile #>\retriggers from 1 to 0 I found this by comparing the registry values of a correct clip camera to the short clip camera. In the back and forth with Ken at BI (very responsive I will add) he...

Does a 1/1.2” IR camera exist?

I'm wondering if the Color4M and other newer cameras will get the animal detection firmware, or is it a dead end with the 541 S3 series?

    Power demand night IR

The power consumption for the cameras jumps around a bit as the camera does various things, but they tend to hover around 4 watts with the IR off and 8-9 watts with the IR at full blast. One power cutting trick is to lower the CPU power consumption in Windows. Maximum Processor State, I...

How to Fix Drive Issue: Overallocated

If this happened because the storage window was left open, close it of course. Then rebuild the database, or if you wait long enough it will do it by itself. I've been hooked by this twice, didn't learn the first time.

How to Fix Drive Issue: Overallocated

Your specified New file size has to be somewhat less than what's available on the disk. I think there is a guideline in the manual. Did you happen to leave the Storage window open for a long time? If you do that, it WILL mess up and overallocate.

At least they knocked on the door. In the USA they just break down the door and go running in with guns drawn. Good thing for this woman that she wasn't providing shelter to an illegal squirrel.

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

Right, let's poke the bear harder and maybe they'll launch directly at us. Or maybe they first move the missiles into Canada and/or Mexico the same distance from us that the NATO launch sites are from the Russian border.

I can never get a water tight connection!

I've had problems with the dual-female connectors you linked to and am cautiously optimistic I have it solved. The solution was to coat all of the sealing surfaces and gaskets with grease (thin layer) before assembling them. I used dielectric grease but for this application I think any grease...

end trigger if not re-triggered within - short clips

I ran into this exact situation and lost a lot of time over it. In my case. some camera settings got out of sync because of the order I went about changing them. I had some cameras that worked ok, and some with the short clips, and every related setting in the GUI was identical. I got it...

    Funny / Satire

Me either except for a fairly small car loan that I paid off early, and a loan from my mom. Just for debate, if you're running up the student debt for a career that has a reasonable chance of being worth it in the end, like doctor, medical researcher, maybe lawyer, it might be a reasonable...

    Dahua Color 4K-X in-depth review

An example of what I love about this camera, clearly seeing a deer over 100' away lit only by moonlight :). Caught only by BI motion detection since the camera is too stupid to let IVS trigger on animals :(.

    EmpireTech T54IR help

ConfigTool finds them almost every time with no need to change windows settings. The big trap with it is you have to change the ConfigTool password to match the camera's password after initializing it. Otherwise you won't be able to change the camera's IP address.

HDMI & USB over Cat6. Wireless mouse ?

I often use a Logitec wireless mouse over about 4 meters. Never tried 15 meters, close to 50 feet. They've always been plug and play for me, for both the PC and the NVR. Down south here, Staples usualy has good prices on them. Don't know if it's different up north.

Reset and Start Over with BlueIris

Just in case you haven't found this, it's a whole lot easier to add cameras if you use the "sync" feature for Trigger, Alert, and Record. It probably doesn't work for everybody. For me, it does, having one "master" camera, and syncing the others off of it. I think there is a risk of...

T180 illuminator light control using the API

The secret to controlling the T180 (and I assume 4K-T) LED has been revealed in this post: Dahua IPC-Color4K-T has anyone figure out API to operate the LED? There is indeed a second data structure that is the one really used by the camera. Some examples: Get lighting configuration...

Dahua IPC-Color4K-T has anyone figure out API to operate the LED?

How did you figure this out? It's not in the latest API spec that I know of (v3.26). Since this is your one and only post to date, I have to ask, are you a bot?
