    No - not risky at all (at least not more than the normal firmware...). And even if flashing fails, I posted a howto to unbrick failed MCU flashings. You have to take the .bin file - can't remember which folder it'is in. The .hex cannot be flashed with config-tool anyway.

    Off course, a VTH does not have a web server on it, so web-x.cramfs.img is defintely wrong. How does you commands.txt look like and what's the software image you want to flash on your VTH?

    Looking at your post it seems that you tried to boot uboot out of uboot - this does not work (wrong image type...). Try to load kernel and boot it. As rootfs I suggest to use a prepared sdcard (root=/dev/mmcblk0) - maybe this works.

    I tested it out with my test-VTO2000A, no problem. If DMSS notfies silent, then at least p2p works. Your problem must be app-, os(android) or setting related.

    Make sure, that you run latest firmware on your vto (General_VTOXXXXD-G_MultiLang_PN_SIP_V4.500.0000002.0.R.210812), p2p is enabled and most of all, subscribe for messages in gDMSS app (Messages -> Bell at top left -> your device => ON). This is a very common mistake.

    Playing with new firmware versions on my dahua VTH5241DW-S1, I flashed once again the wrong image => device bricked. Off course I'm aware of UART / TFTP methods for unbricking. This time I made the mistake, flashing a obviously too old bootloader which does not support the flash from this board...
