    Anyone here an electrical engineer?

Okay, I'll give you that. I can figure out total resistance of series parallel circuits, and figure what power factor is in certain scenerios... i deal mainly with banking transformers, and that's where it ends.... they don't have diodes and trimmers on HV voltage lines. But, I'll get there...

    Anyone here an electrical engineer?

Right... the reason I install them at work is to prevent voltage drop and dimming lights, by things such as cranking amps, 3phase motors, etc. Makes sense to me. Thanks to everyone for the input. It is as always, appreciated!

    Anyone here an electrical engineer?

I have a basic understanding of a.c. and D.C. theory to do my job, but that is where it ends. This is to help out a friend of mine. I believe he is putting this in a old Lincoln continental analog stereo.

    Anyone here an electrical engineer?

I need a detailed explanation as to why this circuit is designed the way it is ... I don't understand 1) why there's capacitors before and after the adjustable voltage regulated(maintain the current when the voltage adjusts?) 2) why I need trimmer pots to reduce the input signal from a...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

You saying " It's just a horribly advertised/designed unit." Is not you addressing issues for other people to know about.... that is you bashing an awesome product that people are potentially wanting to buy for security purposes. 99% of the people are here for security... and then there is...

No one here writes dahua firmware or designs these cameras....if I had the problem you did, it would of been resolved already.

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

At least @nayr helps fix issues, even with his I don't give a fuck attitude.... You on the other hand... complain... and whine, like a child... you talk in circles and it's annoying as fuck... if you bought the camera from Andy, I'm sure you can get a refund if you are crying half as much to...

    Viewing on a smart tv

Do you mean, 1 output going to 2 receiving devices(if that is the case you need to buy another receiving device)? I'm not sure if this is for your house or not, but if you are trying to troubleshoot your video card at home/hdmi adapters, why don't you just use the adapters between your tv and a...

Seems like these people have done more homework/testing than I. How Long Can HDMI Cable be Run? -- Blue Jeans Cable Once again, monoprice is pretty hassle free... if it doesn't work. Cable OR hdmi extender... just return it and move on to the next idea. I went through 3 items before I found...

It's a personal preference. If you don't mind drill a big enough hole for the end to fit through your whole run, do the hdmi route, less things to go wrong.

Camera, Cameras, What one to get?

Frame by frame at ~9 seconds is enough for me to see what he looks like.... You're probably gonna get Dahua recommendations based on your price range. Almost all my cameras are and I love them. Check out the sub forum for different reviews.

    Viewing on a smart tv

If you don't have to drill big holes for the hdmi end, i would buy a long hdmi cable.... if you have to run the cable through a bunch of walls and stuff, I would get an adapter.

    Blackview DR650S-2CH-IR

Yeah that isn't cool... this really was kind of an impulse buy...will hope for the best. 115 days are common here and not having shaded parking sucks.

    Blackview DR650S-2CH-IR

If it gets to that, I'll probably just sell it, and if anything happens lets insurance deal with it as usual.

Yeah, I'm curious if it will survive the summer here in AZ. Time will tell. Was hoping there would be a discrete place to mount it, but there is no way to hide this sucker.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

It seems like a real roll of the dice on how much HOA's will fight you, and if the neighbors complain or not.... before I bought the house I called the property management company and asked if it was gonna be a problem having a bucket truck in my driveway... They said no problem, I buy the...
