    BI has become unstable.

Let's see if changing those settings will stop it from crashing. The HDD set to sleep in 15 minutes won't cause it to crash right away, because it needs 15 minutes of inactivity for it to sleep. Which makes sense why the computer mostly crashes at night time. I thought BI prevented the HDD's...

    BI has become unstable.

WD blue is the not proper drive for surveillance but that’s probably not the issue. you didn’t answer the question about the computer going to sleep. Is there a specific reason you need it to sleep? Back in 2014/2015 when I was using BI4 I forgot to turn off the setting that puts the HDD to...

    BI has become unstable.

Can you give us more detailed specs. If the computer is prebuilt, who's the manufacture? Make? Model? What's the make/model of your storage drive? Why does the computer go to sleep? Do you need it to sleep?? I can't think of a legitimate reason for a VMS computer to go to sleep. I would start...

    BI has become unstable.

You only need that enabled for NAS drives. Is you "new" folder on a local drive? Can you give us the full specs of your computer? Processor Motherboard RAM Powersupply OS Drive Storage Drive Second NIC OS Onboard graphics? How was Windows installed? Via media creation tool? Did you download...

Thinking about using 5442 IVS to trigger BI instead of using BI zones... thoughts?

I've found the follow settings work for me when using camera clones. Check "clone master", "Get ONVIF trigger events", "cameras digital input or motion alarm" and "trigger until reset" on the camera that will receive the ONVIF triggers. On the cloned camera that will not receive the ONVIF...

Just upgraded to 5.7.5 - April 20, 2023 and lost all my alerts and my database

Did you do a repair/regenerate, delete & regenerate or anything to try and fix the database before you rolled back?

    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

Why use VBR and not CBR? In my opinion, if my objective is to have a high quality image, I'm going to set a high constant bitrate (CBR) and not use a variable bitrate (VBR). I have both the 4K-t and 4K-x and I don't have that issue you're describing.

Blue Iris app + business related + I'm not to sure

The 5442 is specifically listed on their support file as compatible with Analytics (AI). So I don't know if I'm not configuring something correctly but once I get his system up and running I'm going to have to figure out. DW will also integrate with 3rd party programs with its API but I haven't...

Blue Iris app + business related + I'm not to sure

I agree with @fenderman, You're probably better off with DW IPVMS. You can create a cloud account with Digital Watchdog and it can be synced with the DW server. I believe the cloud connection with the DW server is encrypted and you can also setup 2 factor authentication for each cloud account...

Looking for an Alarm System for PSTN wired home and/or wifi?

If you want self-monitoring, the Honeywell Vista 20p paired with the Envisalink 4 is the way to go. The envisalink 4 will connect to the panel's ECP bus and allow you to remote monitor via the internet. You'll receive text/email alerts and also be able to remotely control the system without any...

    BI has become unstable.

Do you have BI set up to do auto DB maintenance? I accidently left that on when I upgraded my PC a few months ago and within a few days I was getting a bunch of DB errors. I never allow BI to do auto DB maintenance and I always do it manually. If it's on try turning it off and see if the issue...

    BI has become unstable.

Hopefully Ken will include a new database engine in future releases or BI6 if/when it gets released. My only real complaint with BI is that it stops recording when performing DB maintenance and the DB is too fragile and is easily corrupted. Have you suggested this to him? @ffhamm Make sure you...

    Eyeonet, anyone?

Ask the Subcontractor for specific model numbers for the cameras. Post them here so we can compare the specs. If they're similar to the one you post in this thread they will perform significantly worse than the Dahua 5442's or the Color 4K's

    Substitutes for port forwarding

In my opinion OpenVPN works better than ZeroTier. I like the amount of control I have over it and its fast. (I'm currently using it with pfSense). However, I was not a huge fan when I used it with my old Asus router. That was quite a few years ago so maybe the interface has changed and been...

BI Doesn't Record when Router is Down

That's fine if you want your router to handle the IP's of the cameras. Just understand by doing so you're intrducing an additional unnecessary point of failure into your security system (As you've found out the hard way). Putting the cameras into a VLAN will not fix that issue unless they have...

BI Doesn't Record when Router is Down

The issue went away because you set a static IP address for your computer. The cameras should really be on a second NIC that does not interface with your network or router and all IP addresses should be manually assigned with a static IP address. Your current setup is reliant on your network to...

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

I had the same issue as you with my Color 4k-t. Mine was a mess with pixelation and artifacts. I updated it to Andy's October firmware and did a factory default and that fixed all of my issues. In your previous post you said that you did not do a factory default. If you updated the firmware...

BI, Code Project AI with 12th gen Intel i7 12700 memory leak?

I'm not concerned that it's using that amount of RAM, but that fact that it continues to increase RAM usage without leveling off. I installed the latest version of BI that includes a memory leak fix so we'll see if that changes anything.

BI, Code Project AI with 12th gen Intel i7 12700 memory leak?

My system has been up for 21 days. CodeProject AI is now consuming 16,878 MB of RAM which seems extremely high. My total memory usage is at 84% (26.6GB out of 31.8GB). @MikeLud1 is there a maximum amount of RAM CPAI will use or an average amount your typical install will consume?

    Repair db error, exclusive rights...

Just out of curiosity, when you had the original error, did that happen when you manually ran DB maintenance or did it happen randomly?

    Repair db error, exclusive rights...

Are the BI folders excluded from malwarebytes, and defender? Is BI running as a local service or did you provide it with a windows admin account credentials? I would do a database delete and regenerate, followed by a compact and repair, then run maintenance. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Repair db error, exclusive rights...

Do you have any virus scanners or security software installed on the computer? If not, do you have all of BI’s folders, processes, and storage drives excluded in Windows Defender? Is BI running as a service? If so do you have it running with the admin account or as a local service? Do you have...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

I have all of my cameras switch between day/night profiles either with the Dahua Sunrise/sunset utility or the built in schedule. I never run WDR at night.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

I have WDR enabled on all my cameras, while it does slightly washout the image, It's very drastic on the 4K-T. The WDR on the rest of my 5442 series and Color-4k-X looks fine and works very well.

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

@wittaj I modified the password in ONVIF user in the B5442 bullet and that seems to have fixed it. Thank you! However, I did the same thing for the 4K-X and it still doesn't work. If I open the program ONVIF device manager, I can see the ONVIF trigger events in the program, but BI does not get...

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

The only time I set the admin password was during the setup of the camera. I've never changed it after that. I actually updated the firmware on the B5442 because I couldn't get it to trigger BI. After I did that I did a factory default with the physical reset button on the camera and I still had...

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

I've had the same results with two different BI installs (I recently built a new rackmount computer using a 12th gen i7). With the new computer, I did a clean installation of BI and I set everything up from scratch, I did not import any settings. I added the camera and input the username and...
