I'm accessing the cam by remoting into my BI server. I can't access it directly because it's on a different subnet and even tho it's a royal PITA to hook a monitor up to the BI server it's even worse trying to figure out how to do it with Linux. I'll hook a monitor up to it and report back. I...
My cam doesn't seem to identify itself. how can I be sure it is in fact an unbranded SD4A425DB-HNY. I bought it from Andy via Amazon. According to my receipt it's a PTZ425DB-AT. Just want to make sure before I upgrade thefirmware.
I bought my very first ip cam probably 15 years ago. It was a Chinese Grandstream knockoff ordered direct from China. I was in service up until a couple of years ago when replaced it with a Dahua. It performed flawlessly and was still doing so when i took it down. I still have it somewhere...
Thank you sir.
The reason I bought my sd4a425db-hny was I didn't have a suitable place to mount the bigger one. I'm not at all unhappy with it considering the price but would have went with the sd5 if had the room for it.
Just checked mine. It had one tracking event this morning, it locked on to a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck so yea, tracking seems to be working. There are usually people taking morning walks but not this morning for some reason, maybe too hot.
Just updated mine. Gonna go thru it and see if I spot any differences/upgrades.
One problem I've had is I can't install the webplugin, I get a cannot open file error. Need to troubleshoot this also.
I have both and can attest to this. The 5442 is an awesome cam but once you go tracking there's no turning back. I replaced the 5442 with the 425db as my driveway cam and repurposed the 5442.
FWIW - I'm using Vivaldi browser and it works just fine with BI and UI3. And, knock on wood, I haven't had any further problems since starting this thread.
Oh, and Brave also works fine.
