Haha, make a place for it somewhere, please! What I'm thinking is, if you can order one right now and if @EMPIRETECANDY is willing, have him open both cameras and set them up in his office side by side or somewhere. Then, give @Wildcat_1 access to dial in similar settings so that we can all see...
I agree, considering the PTZ feature with zoom capability. That's why I opted for the 2MP instead of the 4MP, and it also includes auto-tracking. Therefore, it should capture sufficient details even in daylight to identify most occurrences when accessed. Additionally, the 2MP camera is expected...
I was trying to see if I can see any new sensors say by sony which is 1 /1,2 @ 2mp or 4mp Only thing I see on internet is this one so far but it has a very high frame rate

I wonder what CMOS sensor HikVision is using..
One thing I just noticed now .. On the lux Rating does the 1 1.2 Camera at 8mp looks better on paper ??
I am confused or Am I reading this lux rating wrong. ? Sorry do NOT understand lux ratings that well...
Is there a way we can find about say "2MP uses up the entire1/1.2" sensor (not a sub-section!) " ??
Update - I just asked Andy maybe he can find out this detail Will wait for his answer. I am hoping it is the entire sensor and not sub section because than 4mp will make sense right ?
Updating prices above just got the price for 4MP version as well that is $2400
I bought the 2mp Version - DS-2DF8C260I5XG-ELW (PRICE AS OF Jan 2nd 2024 per @EMPIRETECANDY $2150usd )
There is also a 4MP version - DS-2DF8C448I5XG-ELW (PRICE AS OF Jan 2nd 2024 per @EMPIRETECANDY $2400 usd )...
Thanks a ton to you as well for finding that 4MP version. I must say, I like the HikVision site a bit better now, as we can narrow down through MP Filter. All they have to do now is add another filter option using sensor size. I wish Dahua had this option on their website.
Yeah, I am thinking still to go with 2MP as well .... LOL @bigredfish made the decision harder for sure hahah Thank you Though for finding that 4mp version too
I'm not sure how I missed this, but I really like this PTZ. On paper, it seems like it should be a really good camera. What are your thoughts on this, guys?

If you want to replace your lens, take the camera down take out black metal part be careful there is a wire.
Than I just used a wood/metal piece which fits in that round area and push the old lens out with rubber mallet.
take it to your local glass shop along with the...
Thank you so much for this post, and a big shoutout to @bigredfish for sharing his post/results showcasing the benefits he experienced from changing the lens. Ever since I bookmarked his post, I was determined to switch the lenses on my cameras to glass instead of plastic/plexiglass. Finally, I...
I do have a laser PTZ for that area, designed for long-range use. However, some neighbor's trees obstruct smooth auto-tracking because of those trees. Additionally, light becomes an issue over long distances during nighttime for my area.
