    I have an Asus router as well with OpenVPN. When I'm home (using wifi) I can access my NVR thru the DMSS app on my phone without the need for OpenVPN. But when away from home (on cellular) that's when I flip the OpenVPN switch and tap on DMSS to access the NVR. No "block internet access"...

    Why didn't you put the silica packet back in? It's there to absorb any moisture that may form up inside and you don't want droplets of water or condensate to short the boards, do you?

    Nayr, can you recommend any starlight domes that perform similarly to the 5231s? I might have to replace them with domes because I only have to worry about covering the bodies with paint or electrical tape.

    Have you owned painted cameras before? How are they holding up now? These cameras will be situated in the north side of the house tucked well under the eaves...pretty much vampire territory so to speak. The soffits are dark brown in color but it doesn't matter at this point. I can't wait...

    Totally forgot about that lol. I might have to replace these 5231s with starlight domes. At least I only have the base to spray paint with or wrap with brown electrical tape.

    Nayr, questions... 1. How high is that PTZ mounted at your front door? 2. Did you use a plate or wood behind the soffit for mounting? 3. Are you even concerned about vandalism or theft mounting it that low? 4. How did you get the temp and day indicators to display onscreen? Thanks.
