    Totally confused about FPS/key

This video might give you a little insight as to how well certain cameras work at night. For some reason, the neighborhood I live in has lost dogs posted just about every day in local news feeds, so I check my cameras every morning to see if any of the animals wandered by my house. Though I am...

    Dahua PFB203W vs PFB204W

It you really want something strong, you could use a galvanized metal post. This is how I mounted my Color 4K-X yesterday. By using a backbox, you would have plenty of room for the cable hookup.

    Dahua PFB203W vs PFB204W

Doesn't move at all in the wind, and pvc is quite strong. I would be more worried about having a basketball hit the camera than I would hitting the post. Also, the post can easily be spray-painted to match the surroundings.

    Dahua PFB203W vs PFB204W

I followed the lead of another forum member and mounted mine on a pvc post. What's great about it is that you have all the room in the world inside the post to make the connections.

    SmartPSS on macOS Catalina

I checked my system, and I am running the exact version you are using. Booted up the older version you linked, but no difference in image quality. Hmmm Are you sure your preference in SmartPSS is set for the main stream? Here's a thought... Are you using a DVR? Did you make all the image...

    SmartPSS on macOS Catalina

Yeah, that's definitely different. I'm going to load the older version on my computer to compare. I'll let you know if I find something.

    SmartPSS on macOS Catalina

How is it dim? I have not experienced that with my M1 Mac running SmartPSS. Can you post a screenshot? Compared to running SmartPSS on my PC, this M1 version is so much better on my Mac. I can open every camera window, and the app doesn't slow down at all, which was a huge problem with the Intel...

Hiding Intrusion wire on dahua NVR5216-16P-4KS2 (ver4.002..)

It hides it from showing on the monitor.

Hiding Intrusion wire on dahua NVR5216-16P-4KS2 (ver4.002..)

On your Dahua NVR, go to the main menu and login. You will then click on "settings." You get there by clicking on the right arrow at the bottom of the screen (just under "maintain"). After clicking the right arrow you will see "display." Click on that and slide the slider to the left that says...

Did you go to "display" under "settings" and then turn off "AI Rule?"

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

I absolutely love the PTZ. Every morning when I review footage from the cameras I find new things that happened over night. The tracking ability of that camera is well worth the cost. Nothing strange about someone carrying a tv or computer monitor down my driveway at 1:20AM, right? Ha ha

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

That is sound reasoning. I also looked at the N54DUD2 available from B&H but decided because of my situation to purchase a second PC-5449H-ASE-D2. I think the dual-lens 3.6mm is perfect for some installations but definitely has its limitations for others. For my initial install I mounted the...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

Very true. The active deterrence feature with flashing lights really doesn't do much. I have it on three of my cameras, but after trying it out I was not impressed. However, on one of my overview cameras positioned high on my house, setting the light to blink so that someone knows you have a...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

No active deterrence, but it does allow custom audio files. I uploaded a couple mp3's.

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

I've just got to say that the IPC-T5449H-ASE-D2 is the most amazing camera I have ever installed. I received mine today, and Andy was kind enough to send me the updated firmware this evening. Here is a screen capture of the IPC-T5449H-ASE-D2 on the left (my front door) and a IPC-5442T-ZE on the...

How to stop bees/wasps/hornets from entering PTZ cams?

I was looking for an alternative to the wasp spray that has harsh chemicals and found this on clearance at a home supply store. The only ingredient is lemongrass oil. Figured it wouldn't work, but for $3 it was worth a try. I used it and was amazed! Way better than anything I had used before...

    Unreliable IVS Intrusion setup

I also think having seeing more of a body would make it easier to identify. Any chance of moving the trash can out of the way to see if that helps? When looking at something like this, I often have to think in 3D, rather than 2D.

Sounds like more information is needed. Hertz when IP?

    SmartPSS and Macs

They installed several Dahua N55DU82 cameras and charged $289.99 + tax/each. After the install, I wanted to add an additional camera but thought that it was something I could do myself (to save the $400 labor charge), so I did a search on the internet and found the same exact camera at B&H Photo...

    SmartPSS and Macs

First, I’ve got to say a big “thank you” to everyone who has posted here. Reading the WIKI, posts, comments, etc. has made me much more knowledgeable about installing, maintaining, and tweaking a system. I wanted to share something with those of you who are using a Macintosh computer. Having...

Using a Dahua camera to be a PEST repellant? Feasible?

Ok, here are a few things I have done in my yard to deter the neighborhood cats. Outside my front door I have a cushioned sofa that seems to attract cats. For the most part I didn't mind it, but when they started leaving their fleas on the cushions, it became a problem. My experimentation with...

IVS rule page...can maximize the image while drawing?

I found that the best way to do it is draw the box (making sure you use enough points) and then after you have right-clicked to finish, click the "draw rule" button, and double-click on the image to enlarge. Now you can single-click on any part of the box to make it active, and then either click...
