New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Just got cable run for data and POE to where the Wifi version is mounted. I may have misunderstood this from DavidL "Not to confuse you but the WiFi version support both WiFi And Wired (Just not POE)." I thought it mean that the Wifi model, at a higher price, will do Wifi with wall-wart or...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

All working fine, thanks! Is it expected to run notably warm? Now to get it mounted and powered on the outside metal surface (it's laying on a table atm).

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

@DavidL "Have you connected an ethernet cable from the DB to your router or switch that the router is on with the port being able to assign an IP via DHCP?" OK, so I need to connect the Reolink DB to the router. Then I need to turn Wifi back on (on my notebook pc) and use the Reolink "client"...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I'll have a look at that, thanks. If I recall, correctly, your method avoided the Reolink app & potential phone-home? (I've probably read 100+ pages of forums and how-to's over the past few days, so keeping them straight in my head is impossible.)

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Yes. I can access the streams from my laptop or from the keyboard & monitor connected to the NVR. I can also access the streams from other apps (ContaCam, Camlytics, etc.)

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

No re. the Reolink app. I'm actually planning to initially try to get our Cobra NVR to recognize and display it (I have Reolink and Cobra cams on it now). Later, the plan is to manage them via BSD or Linux.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Do I need to turn the wifi back on, make the changes, then turn it off? Wait, this is supposed to be Ethernet, not wifi. Why would the Ethernet be impacted by wifi settings? Something's missing ... If so, perhaps the instructions need to re-order the steps?

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

There is no IPv4 address - the instructions had me turn everything off. BTW: Thanks for your service. All y'all got the worst kind of raw deal. Love the sig ... all 4 lines!

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

"Use a unique IP that is OUTSIDE of your router's DHCP pool." I don't know for sure what that means. (It can't see my router - the wifi is turned off.) I'm on an ASUS notebook pc. "Set subnet mask to 255.255.255.0" Tried this, instead of his example, no joy.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

It won't accept this step - it errors "Can't save IP settings. Check one or more settings and try again." IPv4 is ON IP Address 192.168.50.5 (I also tried .100 and .200 - since the other cams are in the hundreds) Subnet prefix length 255.255.255.224 Gateway Preferred DNS Alternate DNS IPv6 is OFF

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

OK, cool. I wonder if they convert the ac to dc for the non-doorbell components? Anyhow, back to DavidL's setup instructions. Thanks!

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Just setting up my Reolink Doorbell. Quick question, please? I see that there's no polarity (+ or -) on the connection screws. Is this device running on 24v AC and not DC? I don't think I've ever seen an electronic device, powered by DC, with non-polarized connections. Just don't want to...

Reolink RLC-510WA rtsp onvif add to Cobra NVR

Before I mess with BlueIris or some alternative I'm testing things out ... I own a Cobra 4k NVR. It currently hosts two hard wired Cobra cams and two Reolink RLC-410W wifi cams. One Reolink connects via the main router - the other via the same model router (in AP mode), both are working...

    HDView License Plate Camera

Do I need to make a special request if using it where the preferred IP is 192.168.50.xx (same as our current cams)? One of the Commenters said he needed to do that because the default address wouldn't work for him. This will be deployed in a Linux or OpenBSD environment, so Blue Iris isn't an...

    HDView License Plate Camera

OK, cool, thanks. I wonder as to the quality of the lens and the quality of the image at max zoom. I'd probably not bother with the sd-card (never really understood why they're used at all). My preference is to stream to my pc and save images there (or to an NVR).

    HDView License Plate Camera

The description of the Loryta says Identification at 14' short lens and 49' long lens - are they referring to two different cameras or the extremes of the optical zoom? There's also some concern reported as to longevity. It will be facing north - so I could shelter it from morning sun from the...

Can't get the firmware to update

I'll run a few tests on the two Reolinks we already have (the other is a Heimvision, not a Reolink), and then two Cobra cams. Cobra's are 4k but I haven't chased down info as to the actual manufacturer and other specs. Heimvision is a HM211 that also shows up as a GlobalPat ANYKA-3918 The...

Can't get the firmware to update

I have Cobras and Reolinks and am gifting the older generation Hikvision cameras and NVR to friends. My goal is a system that will work with either the Cobra NVR or via a Linux-native app - for flexibility and redundancy. The older Hikvision cameras do work with the Cobra NVR but are a...
