Sell Custom Lengths of Cat 6?
UV light, even from indirect sunlight will destroy the cable fairly quickly. Do yourself a favor and run the cable through some conduit to protect the cable from the elements...and critters...even outdoor rated cable is destroyed by UV, UV light is very destructive, not much can survive it in... -

i have one, running F/W DH_IPC-HX2(1)XXX-Sag_EngSpnFrn_PN_V2.800.0000000.5.R.200107.bin paired with NVR DHI-NVR4216-16P-4KS2 running FW V4.001.0000000.4, Build Date: 2020-07-07 it's been rock solid, best part is it does 30fps @4k 8MP, and when set to VBR on best quality, the bit rate easily... -

anybody know how to fix the false tampering alarms generated by Dahua IPC-HFW2831T-ZS-S2 ? running latest F/W release V2.800.0000000.15.R the tampering alarms are generated when the IPC switches from IR/night mode to day mode. Other Dahua IPC without SD card slot cover anti-tamper switch... -

i have PTZ controls on my NVR4216-16P-4KS2, as below, Running F/W V4.001.0000000.4, Build Date: 2020-07-07 I've only used the zoom in/out + autofocus PTZ function, as i've got mostly varifocal IPC-HFW2831T-ZS-S2, work's without any issues... and also concur, cat6 definitely supports 802.3at (Poe+) -

Dahua camera accepts 128G micro SD card
4k IPC VBR rarely exceeded even 6-7 Mbps, i've had no lost data in my IPC-HFW2831T-ZS-S2 VBR writing to class 10 SDXC....and i did say, class 10 or higher.... -

did you check if your NVR mainboard has a reset button on it? pressing it and holding it for 5-10 seconds when NVR is powered on, performs a factory default config reset.... -

sorry to hear, i don't use smrtpss ( i don't trust cloud run by Dahua ), i did my initial NVR f/w upgrades via LAN auto check feature during first power on/initialization, which worked, then the 2nd F/W upgrade via http/GUI pointing to local image file provided by Dahua...the admin password... -

Haha, I used cat6 for all my cabling, and connected to the Dahua waterproof tubing, and inside Dahua junction box, ...all snug and installed with zero issues....i already knew cat7 is a waste of time + money, i discounted cat7 long before my IPC install... you do realize that even 4K IPC only... -

only an inexperienced sparky would fail to consider the very well known interoperability / compatibility issues of cat7 physically connecting with cat5/5e/6... CPE, like today's IPC and everything else. I can't see future generations of IPC needing anything more then 100Mbps FDX anyway, even 8K... -

Dahua NVR chassis and PSU fans excessively loud
i doubt it will shorten the PSU life, as i've a number of other devices that actually draw more power than the NVR, with exactly the same PSU, installed the same Noctua fans, and their still going strong 10 years later...i can't complain about that...also the installed NVR HDD SMART temperature...- Hazza06

As with any vendor, there are always negatives and positives. Having a forum that only discuss positives is useless to the community...of no help at all....I know a whole lot more on video than you think, and to accept 15fps for faster motion scenes is like living in times before video footage... -

firstly i never asked for anything better than prior n-1 generation IPC, that does 25fps 8MP, have you tired to monitor road traffic @15fps? good luck, you gunna miss a sh*te load of video, not rocket science. You'd be better to keep the scope of the discussion to reasonable thoughts, rather... -

i recently purchased a DHI-NVR4232-16P-4KS2 and found the chassis and PSU 40mm fans excessively noisy, and unbearable to tolerate in my work/study room. I replaced the chassis fan with Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX 4500RPM 40mm and replaced the PSU fan with the Noctua NF-A4x20 40mm FLX 5000RPM now...- Hazza06

except the models i've been looking at are not marketed as AI, so no extra burden on SoC for AI cycles. Still doesn't explain the reason for taking away 25fps 4K... IPC-HFW2831T-ZS -> does 25fps 4K, and is now EoL IPC-HFW2831T-ZS-S2 -> is the same model replacement, and does not do 25fps 4k... -

i can always understand wanting to be more competitive in the market, driving costs down, with release on new generation IPC, but to drive up their profit margins and to sacrifice big ticket items such as product frame rate, is well, lets just say, pure greed....especially as time goes on, SoC... -

i can't understand Dahua's product road-map strategy either, with significant downgrading frame rate, plus EoL'ing the decent earlier generation IPC that do better frame rate, big steps backwards....
