    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

More cams is better anyway at different focal length and can set different rules. I have put 3 cams to cover critical area with overlap and different angles and planning to add another one. I wish there were recent good 2.8 - 12mm varifocals from Hikvision or maybe Dahua under 200?

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

Don't see a big deal with soft focus when you can easily identify the person this close anyway.

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

Don't know what this rating means but you won't have problem identifying someone even within 1 meter. Actually I have 18 ft of driveway and with 4mm lens it's a bit difficult to get good facial recognition beyond 18 ft. It gives me good angle though in my overall coverage. I have another camera...

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

My choice with G1/G2 cams been 4mm. I found that 4mm is giving me a good 90 degree coverage, 2.8mm is just way too wide and loosing far detail

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

This will always stay in color mode there is no B&W. This really depends for your situation but you would need a good amount of outside light to do 1/120 or use built-in light for up close coverage. In my testing I found results pretty good with a single street light and side garage lights...

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

Checked out this cam at my neighbor's and compared to my G2 non ColorVu Acusense. Certainly pretty good night vision if you have some light, probably best spot is at the front of the house. Could even set 1/120 exposure and have decent picture and motion. Doesn't work in compelete darkness all...

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

Thanks for sharing! Beautiful sharp and bright image. Can even read license plate across the street but motion is an issue even without running. Hopefully this can be tweaked with some settings a bit.

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

Static image will look decent on most cams with such exposure. Interesting would be to see motion

Would be nice to have comparison of the batches if that's the case. Hopefully the difference is negligible

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

I bought recently 8k G2s and mix of turrets and mini bullets. Mini bullets were cheaper. Mounting mini bullets was much easier and they look more inconspicuous then turrets. Previous turrets used to be more compact.

BH sells way too high all Hikvision cams. This should be around 170

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

4MP seems to perform the same at 1/6 exposure but of course 4k is much sharper. Non ColorVu isn't good at all Now I want to replace all my new non ColorVu G2s with this.

    Acusense 2.0 and ColorVu 2.0

Yes G2 is just a hair better. It's a bit brighter and less noise at night under the same settings.
  28. Z

    Camera recommendation, 2mp, starlight, turret/bullet

Dahua might not be as good but it is cheaper though. I am looking to pick up varifocal one. But G2 Acusense Hikvision rocks right now. It's 4k and darkfighter. If you want less pixels ColorVue 4MP is even better.
  29. Z

    Acusense 2.0 and ColorVu 2.0

Can you clarify what is not as good on G2? I have G1 and G2 turrets and G2 is a bit less noise and built-in mic.

    Stuck IR Cut Filter

In that case options are limited if you want compact one. When I was looking for indoor camera it was either to get same size 2CD2543G0-IS or a bit bigger but with PTZ 2DE2A404IW-DE3. Also check out SD1A404XB-GNR. It's Dahua but pretty good size for indoor use.
