    It's not that they're pushing, because they would lose all their base of old customers, it's just that they screwed up in the latest firmware for which declared a SMART and EXCITING feature for chimes. :)

    Yes, it's the NVR that is trying to set the timezone via ONVIF via sync settings. Check its configuration, there should be a specific option. I had this issue with my Synology Surveillance Statio nvr. Had to set sync to "by camera settings".

    Dig into wiring, because we don't yet have a solution for all those DB1 with the issue. So you are not wasting time, it's possible that in your case it's a first-installation-issue.

    We already verified with all users having this issue that the chime works when you short the wires. It's the damn DB1 who doesn't do its job. And this is happened since the latest "smart chime" firmwares.

    This is a great mod. I would do it so that the tasmota device sets an MQTT so I would pick it up via my automation Hub. That's what I'm doing with the firefly electronics doorbell sensor. Great job there.

    My DB1 was replaced 4 months ago because it didn't even turn on. The RMA procedure here in Italy was very fast, they sent UPS pickup & return. In 4-5 days I had my new one back. Everything free of course. In EU we have a minimum of 2y of full warranty.

    Blue led steady or RED steady? If it's blue steady it means it's connected, it's the normal state.

    So even with a new firmware the chime doesn't work? So it's a hw issue. Did you try replacing the camera with the spare one?

    If you think it's the firmware, try an alternative firmware (hikvision). You can always go back. You'll find the procedure in my signature. If it still doesn't work after the fw upgrade, then you're pretty sure it's a hw issue.

    Yes but it can convert to AC in output. Didn't try it because I don't have a traditional chime, but I think it'll work. The power-kit is a sort of voltage regulator. Even if you don't have a chime, it's needed. As you know, I use sensors instead of the chime, and without the power-kit installed...

    This doorbell has an AC/DC converter, it operates on DC internally. I also tried powering it with 12v DC: it works fine. :)

    If you are sure about the wiring and connection of the power-kit, you should RMA it. If you bought an officially supported chime, you have to raise a support request and they must answer asking you to troubleshoot things. After you've completed all troubleshooting they will propose the RMA.

    It is, but I wanted you to try ezviz. you did. DId you measure voltages in normal conditions and when pressing the button? We must be sure that the doorbell is activating electrically. If you see nothing, then you should RMA it.
