Install the power-kit and try it. If you hear a strange and loud sound probably it means it's overpowered.

We're here to read these kind of messages. Too bad ezviz/hikvision/nelly's/etc. don't pay us. :winktongue:

two things: 1. That method could depend on the BCT version used. Mayba in latest BCT versions they solved the problem. 2. Last time I used EZVIZ fw, motion detection in BCT worked, so this should be checked again before updating 101. Thanks a lot David.

This is a great find. I bet @rafale will appreciate taking a look at the internals. :)

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I read in that thread the camera has a good SNR, which silences the noise coming from far (the user mentions trucks, cars, etc.) so I guess it should handle the wind too. I actually liked this system, wired PoE, has a door unlock relay which is needed for me, and it is ONVIF compatible with a...

That's how it should be done. Configure everything on one desk, near the PC. Once everything works, you install in the final location. Basic stuff. :)

Use the Ring transformer at 24v, it'll work.

EZVIZ has the best app, IMHO, but they decided to remove the chime options after the first setup. But you can install Guarding Vision app, without removing or configuring the camera again, and you should be able to enable and configure the chime again. Please read 101, many questions are...

Welcome. :) For BI configuration, check this post by @David L: New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera You don't configure ONVIF via Batch Config, because it is already pre-configured by default with hikvision's fw. Make sure you set 80 as the ONVIF/Discovery port.

@TechBill: installed it today. But I had to find and modify a driver for HE, since the device works only via MQTT. Works great. The only thing I don't like is the fact that's powered by a CR123 battery (3V). I wonder if I could feed it with a 5V DC power source...have to ask the company. Good...

I'm sorry for this, but I think we tried everything possible. I hope you can get the doorbell replaced at no cost, and buy a good transformer. Once you receive everything, I think you won't have all those issue. The positive side of your story is that now you have quite a good understanding of...

You can also install Guarding Vision mobile app that has the chime option always available. EZVIZ has really done a stupid thing allowing to configure the chime only on first configuration of the camera.

When we wrote about the ICMP fix, the issue was a NETWORK DISCONNECTION, as user @ronin1 reported: Batch config only shows an Exception error - Network Disconnection in the logs Did you check your router logs and batch config's event log to see if a network disconnection happened? If it didn't...

low and discontinued service power can lead to literally anything. Since you tried almost everything, I would certainly buy a proper transformer, it's not wasted money because even when you'll have to buy a new DB1, you will have the right transformer. I recommend a good 12V/24V-40VA continuous...

8VA? I'd never go that low. Buy a 12-24V transformer with at least 20VA or more. That thing is a tiny chime transformer, not good for a camera, despite its low requirements.

I thought you had already checked 101, for network issues. Anyway, after the VLC hint, I would have told you to check the firewall rules. Glad you nailed it.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

You can't enable both WPA+WPA2 on your wifi AP/router? But I don't think that's the cause of your issue. WPA/WPA2 come into play only when the camera connects to the wlan. Since you say the camera does not disconnect from the network, that can't be the problem. Try opening the RTSP stream with...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I run it at 24V and it never disconnects. BI disconnections are not related to the camera but to the way BI connects to it. Other users reported BI disconnections, but when we analyzed the camera logs, the camera was never disconnected. When BI says there's a disconnection, at network level it...

That is also why I'm using 24V 40VA transformer. The current generates the heat. The lower the voltage, the higher the current, and higher the heat. But I tried different voltages, and the camera is always hot anyway. At 8V we're talking about 0.6A, at 24V we're talking of 0.2A.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

The camera works in DC, it has an AC/DC converter. I even powered it up with a 16V DC transformer, it works fine. EZVIZ recommends at least 12V. I recommend 16V mimimum, if you record locally, and I didn't notice any significant temp differences if I use 12V or 24V. It's always hot. :)

This might help @gudmundurg. Should put a link to this guide in 101.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Well the good thing is that I'm sure you now perfectly know how the fw/sw of the camera works in regards to the chime. :p 8v transformer is a little bit too low, IMHO. I think it doesn't respect the specs of the camera, wasn't 12v the minimum? I might be wrong... Interesting that you solved...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

there's no such thing as easy fix unless you know the exact cause of the problem. you didn't do any analysis of the problem, so you can't expect an easy fix. What PSU are you using? Is the chime working ok without the camera? Are voltages correct when measuring with and without the camera...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

From what I read, the C7 is full of bugs, better wait for a stable firmware. But you can always get it and wait. It's not hardware issues from what I read, just a major overhaul of the firmware so many bugs to fix, but they're pretty good devs so I'm sure they will address everything, it's just...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I don't think it's the power kit, but you could try measuring voltages there to see what happens in normale state and when button is pressed. You have to be sure voltages are correct. It looks like the camera is keeping the power up at all times for the chime. Try this: physically disconnect...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

That's true, unfortunately. You can't even create a driver that listens on a TCP/UDP port. :(

What upgrade have you made? The old PSU wasn't working?
  30. alexdelprete

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Yes I read some posts about the problems and I also noticed lots of fw updates fixing stuff...sign of an immature firmware. I only have 1 zwave device, the siren/chime, so I have no need of C7, no benefits for me. :)
