He never sees it coming, guy gets beat down with a club (NOW WITH ARREST FOOTAGE)

Similar in Ireland too. I was going to setup a LPR camera as i have the perfect view to catch registration plates (which are frequently asked for by the police) but then i did some reading and found out i would become a "Data Controller" and enjoy all the responsibility and cost that comes with...

    Hack attempts right now!

you're making it more complicated than it needs to be by adding a 2nd router and asking for trouble with all the PoS etc. systems as you will end up with double NAT. Replace the existing router or add a device in the network to act as your VPN endpoint.

Zosi camera - how to access

i guess the camera may not be running a web service on that port. If you have a late enough version of windows you could try using the curl command to see if it throws back anything to give a hint: example at the command prompt: curl 192.168.138.100:8080 if i do that on one of my Hik cameras i...

Zosi camera - how to access

TCP port 8080 is a common http port so try using the following address in your browser 192.168.138.x:8080 (whereby x = the number you assigned to your camera (i.e. 192.168.138.100:8080)) once you have changed the IP address (lets say 192.168.138.100) on the camera to the correct address range...

    Hack attempts right now!

why not put a Raspberry Pi in the network? install OpenVPN (you can use PiVPN to make it super easy). Port forward from the router to the Raspberry Pi. Much safer exposing the Pi with hardened software intended to be public facing than a NVR. You then use your VPN client to tunnel from your...

Camera quandary - Dahua 5442T|| Hikvision 4MP ColorVu

Yup - my 2mp varifocal noted above currently has the following settings which is enough to keep it in colour without motion blur but its not a touch on the ColorVu and in some places is probably too dark.

Camera quandary - Dahua 5442T|| Hikvision 4MP ColorVu

Thanks so much @bigredfish for your input! As much as I love the quality of the Hik ColorVu, im still a bit weary of relying on ambient light 100% so I'm still swaying towards the Dahua. Other factors pushing me this way is the size of the Hik Turret and the wall mounts are no where near as neat...

Camera quandary - Dahua 5442T|| Hikvision 4MP ColorVu

Thanks for that! It would explain why i couldnt find the equivilent on Dahuas site, i was looking at turrets only. Unfortunately the missus will not go for a bullet (why must women spoil things) and i dont want a dome as some cams will be in direct sunlight. Plus i will need longer lenses on...

Camera quandary - Dahua 5442T|| Hikvision 4MP ColorVu

Hi All, In the process of adding a few cameras and initially was going to plumb for the well reccomended Dahua 5442 turrets, specifically the Varifocal (IPC-HDW5442T-ZE) so i can zoom tighter to specific areas. I asked my local installer for a quote for multiples of the IPC-HDW5442T-ZE to see...

    Dahua ptz camera sd29204T-GN reset

That sucks. Can you downgrade the firmware on the NVR to the previous version? One of the reasons not to upgrade firmware unless it addresses a specific issue you are having. I'm afraid im at the limit of my knowledge here. If the downgrade isnt possible or successful then post back and...

    Dahua ptz camera sd29204T-GN reset

Are you connceting your cam to an NVR? I'll admit i have no experience what-so-ever of NVR's. I think i read somewhere that NVR's activate/enable the cams themselves and push config to the cameras. Is there a way you can delete that camera from the NVR and "add a new one" where it will go...

    Dahua ptz camera sd29204T-GN reset

@koppted This is a pic from the manual. Reset button is shown there. In the manual it looks like there should be some sort of plate covering the circuit board and on that plate there is a button/hole to push a pin into. Do you have that plate? If it has that pin hole than it will locate the...

Not a clue then. Perhaps you need to short two of the wires coming out of it then. Like a reset and a ground wire? Im sure someone who knows better will help

    Dahua ptz camera sd29204T-GN reset

There looks like there is a little button above the memory card slot that says "default". Probably hold that down while you power the cam on. Or hold it down for a few seconds while it is already powered on?

Thank you for your sacrifices and service.

Sending love and respect from Ireland. While the majority of this country love to hide behind its sudo "neutral" stance, it can't be ignored that the sacrifices made by your countryfolk past and present have indirectly greatly benefited the people of Ireland (and many other European nations)...

Fixed lens out of focus, with every re-start

This is a really wild guess but its the first thing that popped into my head. Take what you will from what that says about my thought processes :winktongue: Is it possible that the variation in temperature from daytime to night is causing slight movement in the lens? I dont mean rotation of the...

    IP camera software

Dont discount BI just yet. Have a read of the Blue Iris subforum. Specifically for substreams, if your cameras are capable of substreams then this addition was a game changer with regards to reducing CPU usage.

One of my T5442T-ZEs started misbehaving

Hey Simby, you have had quite a few responses here now from guys with a lot of experience with these cams. If it were me, before downgrading F/W (because I'm not a fan of F/W changes unless it addresses a problem you are having), i would swap out one of the older firmware version cameras and...

    No WAN access unless open

does your router have the ability to log activity? Maybe something there might point out to why its closing its port. I say the router because your BI machine is still accepting connections on port 81 from your LAN so it sounds like the bad link is the router. Frustrating issues these :(

    No WAN access unless open

could you try using a higher number port and having your firewall port forward to BI on port 81? i.e. Connect to your WAN IP on port 40000 and router forwards to port 81 on your LAN to the BI machine. port 81 is a comon port for botnet usage and perhaps something is throwing a lot of requests...

Weird Dahua Bullet IPC behavior - taking autosnapshots?

What if you remove the ticks for scheduled and Alarm on the "Snapshot" section on the right of this image? It should at the very least mean that only motion detection snapshots are configured for FTP?

Weird Dahua Bullet IPC behavior - taking autosnapshots?

:welcome: Could they be for "Alarm" snapshots? I dont know what the letter 'F' would correspond to. If i look in my Dahua web interface there is the option to enable Alarm on the schedule as well as motion. Then if you look in the Alarm section there are lots of options to chose what I guess...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Hard to tell from the two vids posted since that leaf blower is making a right racket and the doorbell mic is probably knocking the gain down to stop it distorting. Wheras the new doorbell is dealing with a much lower baseline noise so is picking up the footsteps great. Have to say im more...

Thanks for taking the time writing a great review. Your video with the DB1C has no sound but the DB1 did have sound. Does the DB1C not record sound via the rtsp stream? Really hope they alow you to mute/change volume of the doorbell ring on the unit with a firmware update

Why I Like Redundant Views/Multiple Cam Views

    Doorbell Camera

Seems like the EZVIZ DB1 is the go to doorbell camera at the moment. Plenty of folks on here have it hooked up to Blue Iris. Have a read of the Doorbell 101 thread It mentions Hikvision at the top but its the same hardware.
