Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

I checked my Cumulus.ini file and the NOAAUseUTF8=1 option was already set to 1 (the default), which means it is using UTF-8 encoding. I also read the Cumulus wiki and tried using the "Convert to UTF-8" tool as mentioned in that thread but it didn't change the diamonds back to the degree...

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

Well, surprisingly, I got it to work with one exception. I got CumulusMX generating the text files and they are being updated regularly and I was able to use that in BI Tools to overlay that data on the video. The problem is, the degree sign is getting messed up in the process. I created a...

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

I also use CumulusMX and since it can easily output a text file with the weather info periodically updated, I would think that it shouldn't be too hard to figure out a way to get BI Tools to pull that in, although I'm no programmer. I guess knowing the format that BI Tools requires would be the...

    Blue Iris UI3

So I got it all working thanks to @wittaj and @Mike A. I originally had NetTime installed but didn't have the option checked to allow other computers to sync to it, and in my troubleshooting I had disabled NetTime. On top of that, I still had the Windows Time service running. In addition to...

    Blue Iris UI3

I switched all my cameras and POE switch over to a second network card for security purposes and now I've recognized an issue with the time settings on all my cameras. I use the internal timestamp overlay from each camera instead of using an overlay from Blue Iris due to the large number of...

Once again, forum members helped me out! I got a USB to ethernet adapter for my laptop ($14) and now everything is back up and running as it should be and my time lapse computer is pulling the images just fine. Thank you all for your help!

Yep, since the movies tend to be 50MB to 100MB, I'd prefer to not use the wifi as my second network source. So, I ordered a USB to ethernet adapter and it should be here tomorrow. I'll let you know if that solves the problem. Thanks!

    Blue Iris UI3

Hmmm. So if I do that, I'm guessing that I would set it on the same 192.168.200.x LAN and plug the other end of the ethernet cable into the POE switch as well? Is that right? My time lapse computer is a laptop but I'll see if there is a way to add another ethernet port (maybe through USB?).

Well, it took me a while (life got in the way) but I finally got around to adding the second ethernet card and getting all 20 of my cameras moved over to the new private LAN and separate poe switch. I want to thank everyone here for helping guide me through this. I hope that I can contribute...

    Blue Iris UI3

I am currently setting the BI computer and all the cameras with a static IP assigned from the router, but I can change that. I never tried this before because I always thought that I wouldn't be able to access the web interface from any of my LAN computers except the BI machine. Now I know...

    Blue Iris UI3

OK, great. I think I follow that. So the internet side NIC on the BI computer would get it's IP info and subnet from the router via DHCP. Since the second NIC is not connected to a router (only to the POE camera switch), do I set the camera subnet within the NIC IPv4 properties like this...

Maybe clear as murky water. I'm also wanting to try this more secure setup but I have been apprehensive because by BI computer is a headless system in a closet and I access the camera feeds through the UI3 web interface from several computers on my LAN. So if I understand you correctly, I...

loss of flagged clips when upgrading from v4 to v5

I have two v4 blue iris installations and I recently upgraded the "less critical" one to v5 following all the directions to export my v4 settings first, and so forth. Unfortunately I still had a number of problems upgrading including losing my cameras and settings. After numerous attempts and...

I've been using this tweak for a while now but I didn't know the trick to remove the part about the connection not being secure, so thanks @bp2008 for that added bonus. Now to tag onto that, I added the "?group=" parameter so that it opens up the group that I want too, like this: "C:\Program...

Select NO. Uncheck the Check for updates option. Exit the program, and reboot. BIT should continue to work, or at least it did for me and other members here.

    trigger only adjacent cameras?

I'm using version 4 and I was thinking that I read somewhere in the forum that you can't have just one camera in a group (and have the group work properly), but I will try it.

    trigger only adjacent cameras?

Greetings, I am trying to figure out if there is a way to trigger only adjacent cameras. I'm familiar with the ability to trigger groups, but what about individual cameras? Here is the setup. Assume the property is a rectangular house with 3 cameras on each side (12 total) covering the left...

initialization of IP cam from a remote desktop

Woo-hoo! As they say, "You da man!" That worked! All is well. I was worried about setting the static IP when the router was also setting that same IP but there wasn't any conflict (I guess since both were giving it the same IP). I was also worried that it would potentially lock me out...

initialization of IP cam from a remote desktop

Yes, I'm using DHCP on the computer (Win10). I assign a static IP from the router, but from the computer's perspective (in the IPv4 settings), it is requesting it's IP via DHCP. So, I think I understand some of what you've pointed to, but I'm a bit confused from reading the Connect to two LAN...

initialization of IP cam from a remote desktop

I tried looking in the registry for the location mentioned in the link (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Tcpip/Parameters) but the entries shown on the Superuser.com site are not present on my system at that registry location. I also tried searching for the phrase...

initialization of IP cam from a remote desktop

Unfortunately, the ConfigTool doesn't work when unchecking that Validate Settings box either. IPCONFIG still only shows the one x.x.10.x IP on only one network adapter. Does the alternate configuration require any of the other entries to be filled in, like a (fake?) default gateway address?

initialization of IP cam from a remote desktop

...I also tried rebooting but that didn't change things. I noted that in the Alternate Configuration tab, the Validate Settings, if changed upon exit was checked by default so that explains why when I made those changes originally and exited the IPv4 configuration, that the Network Diagnostic...

initialization of IP cam from a remote desktop

Hi @catcamstar, thanks for responding so quickly. To answer your first question, yes I tried editing those values for what you said (the 1.1 thru 1.254) and also tried using the local network of 192.168.10.1 thru 10.254 and neither worked. Also, under the ConfigTool's search settings...

initialization of IP cam from a remote desktop

I am trying to setup/initialize a new EmpireTech IPC-T5442T-ZE 4MP IR Vari-Focal Turret camera (from @EMPIRETECANDY) using the ConfigTool.exe software but I'm running into a problem. The network that the camera is on has been configured with a gateway (router) address of 192.168.10.1 and I am...

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

I'm assuming that once it is fixed, @Mike will post something here. Also, if folks are having problems retrieving their Wunderground data, add the Wunderground Station ID to the end of this URL to check and make sure that the station you're using is still online and sending data...

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

@Mike is obviously aware of the issues raised here so hopefully he and his family are well. I too, hope that he is okay. Sometimes, life just gets crazy and priorities get rearranged so maybe that is the case here. As for BIT, mine is still getting weather data and the overlay is working fine...

Thank you for pursuing this because I'm also getting the same error on Android phone only (although still running the last version of v4). Works fine in Chrome on Windows PC.
