Anyone used this Dahua flood light camera? - IPC-WL46A

Does that mean they will be for sale next week, or that you'll get one to @looney2ns next week?

Looks kind of like a Star Wars Imperial Scout Walker on its head.

    Broken camera or some setting?

That was what I accidentally changed, and then changed right back (without saving), and now it is working fine. I set the Receive Buffer in BI to 20MB, so for now I'll just keep an eye on it, and chalk it up to software gremlins.

    Broken camera or some setting?

@Mike A. Is there some reason that WDR compensation would go crazy, or is it just one of those software "things" that happens from time to time?

That makes sense. I didn't think about the DVR connection meaning fulltime streaming. I would never have even thought about the camera not being always on, execept that 1 of the first cameras I got was a Reolink solar powered and it only came on with motion. It went back even before I found...

    Broken camera or some setting?

Thanks, will do. Funny thing is while I was looking though the settings again after posting my settings, I clicked the compensation mode by accident and changed it and the video was fixed, then I put it back, and it was still fixed.

I don't think I worded that very well, or I didn't understand your post. I was wondering if the camera was always on (like the 180 or 5442) and the lights only came on when motion or pir or some other rule triggerred it. My hope is that the camera is always on and then the light can be turned...

I looked at both and didn't see "plus" or "smart codec". Here are my settings:

    IPC-WL46A 4MP Fixed-focal Floodlight Network Camera

Do you have one of the IPC-Color4K-T180 cameras to compare it with? And, I say this with all due respect, get to working on it! Please! :D

    IPC-WL46A 4MP Fixed-focal Floodlight Network Camera

Thanks, that is why I would like to get one and try it. What I am doing right now to determine what I need/want, is to temporarily install either the 180 or the 5442, view it for a couple of days and nights, then replace it with the other one and see how that compares. (Except for the 2nd...

    IPC-WL46A 4MP Fixed-focal Floodlight Network Camera

@EMPIRETECANDY Do you have a timeframe and ballpark price for these yet? I am thinking for 2 or 3 of my locations, these might work better than the IPC-Color4K-T180 I was getting ready to order in the next couple of weeks. Thanks, Eric

    Broken camera or some setting?

In the last few days, I have started seeing my VT02311R-WP camera do something funky in the evenings just before it goes into night mode. Parts of the image go into "flourescent" mode for lack of a better term. Now today, it is doing it during the day. It is not all the time, but quite often...

Anyone used this Dahua flood light camera? - IPC-WL46A

@EMPIRETECANDY Does the Motion/PIR only control the lights or both the lights and the camera? What I am asking is does the camera work full time and the Motion/PIR only control the lights or is the camera only on when the Motion/PIR activates it? Thanks, Eric

Well being knew, I kind of thought that they would be a good start.

    Camera window Alert icon

Thinking about it, I think I came to the conclusion that they should be 25/30 for the main and 15 for the sub stream because that was what the EmpireTech cameras had by default (I tested by hitting the default button on that specific page on the camera UI and that I that was what the settings were).

Changed all 3 cameras to be 15 FPS for both main and sub streams, and those that have I Frames, I also set that value to 15. I'll see what happens now over time. Eric

Ok, I thought that in some post I read that the main should be 25 and the sub should be 15, but I was reading so much stuff that I could have confused things. I will make the changes. Thanks, Eric

    Another UI question

I have turned off hardware encoding on BI settings and for all cameras, but I am still seeing "CPU xx% GPU xx% RAM xxx.xM" in the status bar area. I BI using the GPU for other work, or am I missing something in my settings? Thanks, Eric

Thanks. What is Pushover, and where do I get the API and the docs for it?

    Camera window Alert icon

I am getting the Yellow-Triangle-Warning icon on the A180 camera all the time, and on the 5442 camera often. The help states "The FPS or keyframe rate is too low, or there is a publishing error". For the A180 camera: In BI, on Video tab I have the Max. rate. set to "666667 [15.00 fps]"...

    Blue Iris UI3

Thanks. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to try to just figure out the UI for that, much less the underlying code. I was hoping that I was just missing something obvious. Thanks again, Eric

    Blue Iris UI3

I am willing to bet this has been asked, but I am not finding it using the search... In UI3, I found the menu item to play a sound on an alert, but that sound is a single sound regardless of which camera it is. Is there a way to play a different sound depending on the camera that is triggered...

New way to get buy-in on EmpireTech cameras

Nope, I have voles in the yard, and I have been told that explosives are not an option, so if I don't get to blow stuff up, no one else gets to either.
