Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

You mean Monica is still around? I thought the company she worked for went kaput. Maybe I'm thinking of Julia that used to sell Hik's. :D Actually not too concerned with the focus problem at 10x. I rarely zoom in that much anyways. Might look into the focus trick though.

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

Thanks for that info. I'll check that out. I haven't taken the camera apart yet but plan on it within the next few days. Is the PoE a circuit board (module) that can be removed and still be able to use a 12V power supply?

The cats absolutely hate my motion activated sprinklers. No cat invasions here. :D

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

I may have to invest in one of the v2 cameras. Your focus seems to be ok even when using the digital zoom. When I do a optical zoom to 10x with the v1 cameras, the focus doesn't seem to want to lock in. If I back it off a little to about 8.5x, then it's ok. 10x 8.5x

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

It did rain early in the morning yesterday but the water under the BBQ was from giving the deck and good cleaning. :)

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

Yep, either lazy or a gadget freak or maybe both. :) I control almost everything at my place from my PC, phone and tablets, including all lights, gate, lawn sprinkler system, alarm system, bird baths, motion activated sprinklers, fans, heaters, roll up garage doors, temperature monitoring...

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

Just finished replacing the Hik with the spare Huisun and won't have to worry about direct sunlight anymore. I'm back to doing surveillance on the BBQ. :peaceful:

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

I'm thinking it probably was the heat that killed the camera. I've decided to replace my Hik 2432, (which is under the deck cover and never gets direct sunlight) with my spare Huisun. The Huisun that croaked was originally installed about 10' from the Hik but wasn't protected by the deck cover...

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

Yep, it might have been the heat that fried it. I'm kind of leary about installing my spare Huisun in the same location. Would hate to lose a second camera if it is in fact the heat causing it. That camera faced south. My oldest Huisun is mounted on my garage facing east and only gets the...

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

I don't think it's a power surge. It was powered through a TP-Link PoE switch. I also have a Hik 2432 powered through the same switch and it's fine. I'm wondering if heat might have something to do with the failure? It quit working in the afternoon during the hottest part of the day. Temps have...

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

I haven't tried using SADP yet. The camera appears to be completely dead. If the IP changed back to factory default, I would think that the PT motors would still do a pan and tilt a few seconds after power is applied. Luckily I haven't mounted a third camera that I purchased at the same time as...

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

Yeah, I read that thread. Sounds like the same problem I'm having with v1. When I plug a power supply into it, I can hear a slight click but that's it. PTZ motors don't power up at all.

Huisun 10x v1 mini PTZ completely dead

My three Huisun v1 cameras have been working flawless for months until yesterday. The one on my deck quit working. I was using PoE to power it but tried 12 volt power adapters also with no luck. No sign of life. PTZ motors do nothing when power is supplied to the camera. Anyone else had this...

Also I did put some silicon grease around the body parts and the three screws as suggested by @Kawboy12R.

Moisture inside Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I on lens

The disassembly went well but the reassembly was a real pain. I did take the camera apart and put a silica pack inside after cleaning the lens. I had one helluva time getting the large ribbon cable reconnected. I don't think I'll be doing this again. It did seem to solve the moisture problem...

Curiosity killed the cat (not really)

I set up the motion activated sprinklers again, now that the temperature is staying above freezing. Here's a capture from three different cameras as a cat was attempting to invade my yard. The second camera got a two for one. A second cat was on his way to join the first. :peaceful: The first...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

I just measured the actual diameter of the round rj45 connector and it's actually smaller than some of the rectangular ones. It measured 3/4" (19mm).

    Suspicious dude jogs through yards

Now I'm wondering if it's the paper boy. I watched a capture at my sisters house this morning of the paper boy running through the yards and throwing newspapers on the porches. Kinda looked like the same guy. Hmmmm, but I don't see the guy in the video carrying any newspapers or am I missing...

    Suspicious dude jogs through yards

After reviewing the video again, I see the critter cross the street at quite a distance from him, but he doesn't seem to notice it or be chasing it. Then he jumps in his car and just takes off.

    Suspicious dude jogs through yards

Unfortunately I can't talk my sister into installing more cameras. She's not a IP camera addict like her Bro. :-) I could set her varifocal camera for 4, 6, 8 or 12mm but she likes the 2.8mm for the wide angle so she can see what's happening in the whole yard and driveway. The problem with that...

Great price but unfortunately it's an in-store pickup only. Closest Fry's store to my location is about 300 miles away. :sad2:

    Suspicious dude jogs through yards

My sister wanted the widest angle of coverage possible, so I set the varifocal lens to 2.8mm. You are right though, she needs another camera with a 12mm lens to catch the license plates.

    Suspicious dude jogs through yards

You think my sisters yard has a lot of crap, you should see her garage. It's a double car garage with so much yard sale junk that you can hardly walk through it. Cars are parked outside. She's a yard sale, garage sale, antique's addict. :D

    Suspicious dude jogs through yards

Yep, it's strange behavior from this guy. The camera hadn't switched to day mode yet so hard to ID him with the motion blur. Maybe he was just checking out what's available to take later during the night? Glad I live in the boonies. :)

    Suspicious dude jogs through yards

This is an early morning BI motion capture at my sisters house. There has been car prowlers in her neighborhood in the past. One of my sisters friends had items stolen out of her truck while parked in front of the house. I thought it was a little strange that this guy appears to be working on...
