Using sub-streams dropped CPU utilization down dramatically:

Great! I don’t believe this was the case when it was first introduced

HW encode Error in log file

Hmmmm! Appreciate that! I been banging my head! I’m having so many other problems right now. Just trying to fix things one thing at a time. I do use my nvidia gpu for blue iris streams. I’ll switch that and just see if that gets rid of that problem.

HW encode Error in log file and I do not know where to start and cant find anything online. 40+ cameras. All cameras except 4 are h265. also have an Nvidia gpu for select cameras to take load off of cpu (i9-9900k).

HELP! Blue Iris Losses Connection To Service - Constant Push Notifications

I'm getting constant push notifications on my phone of "profile changed". When I can get into the console, it says blue iris lost connection to service. I've updated, downgraded, re-installed the service. No matter what I do. its a constant loop.. I've also deleted the DB. Getting constant push...

    set i-frames to match FPS

I can't really do limit decoding on some cameras because they are viewed quite often thru remote server. I have been having issues every since I switched over to h265. Now my processor is maxed out. i9-9900k also paired with a Nvidia graphics card. It is headless but I do have it plugged in to...

    set i-frames to match FPS

Just a thought. I didn’t really set up my frame interval section when i installed the cameras. I’m up to 40 cameras on my blue iris system. When I was using h264. My system would hover around 50%. Now it fluctuates violently since I changed over to h265. Sometimes as low as 25%. Other times it...

Is there a way to add more storage folders in BI?

I use Windows built in storage pool features. I have 4 8tb drives as one pool. One 1tb drive as the storage pool for selects cameras with temporary storage. And a small ssd. no issues over here with any of these

    Hardware Acceleration h.265

Hello all, I switched all my cameras over to h.265. Trying to get the space saving and the acceleration going together.. I switched a couple of cameras over to it and it was working flawlessly for a few days.. Then I switched everything over to h265... Now im getting constant loss of signals...

yeah. That can be a nightmare to figure out

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

Hahaha right. I can’t use it unless it does this so.. I will be waiting lol. I’m pretty sure it’s coming soon.. I just didn’t want to go thru the hassle of switching cameras over etc and then it doesn’t work. Just thought I would ask

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

When using ui3. And lets say I’m using the all camera grid.. which streamer is used? And if I click on a camera in UI3. Does it switch streams as well?

    Physical switches and VLANs

Yeah. Very close. Cameras needed to be plugged directly into switch B. Nic1 needs to be plugged into switch A

    Physical switches and VLANs

I have a similar setup for what You are trying to do. Except with 40 cameras. The way I would do it. Unifi switch will have vlan tag 100 for cameras. So let’s say u have 14 cameras.. So ports 1-15 will be tagged vlan100. You have to do 1 additional port because of the blue iris pc and let’s use...

    Blue Iris h265 update?

limit decoding doesn’t really work for the way that my system is utilized unfortunately. Which is why I have it set up the way I do

    Blue Iris h265 update?

awesome! I know about the substream implementation. That’s really brand new and potentially can be buggy. I’m excited about h265. Luckily i don’t use it much for motion detection at this time. But I will slowly move over. Switching inessential cameras first.

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

Wow. This could be HUGE! If this works! My cameras support two different stream formats.. if I could take advantage of hardware acceleration of h264 for live view on the substream AND high quality direct to disk space saving of h265 for mainstream. I’m sold

    Physical switches and VLANs

Yeah.. only one device needs to have the controller software. But he will have to run an Internet cord between the 2 switches to get internet access to the access points. Any computer can run the controller software.

    Physical switches and VLANs

Just to give you a heads up. If you are going to want to access blue iris camera feeds remotely. It may be easier to add a second nic to the blue iris computer. One nic for internet access. The other nic for cameras.. it’s easier to that vs trying to figure out how to have 1 port access two...

    Blue Iris h265 update?

Hello, I’ve been kinda out of the game as far as latest information regarding blue iris. Once I got my system setup and running smooth with no issues. I’ve learned just to let it be. You never know what could come from an update. Im still running Blue Iris release version 5.0.8.0. Its stable as...

BI CPU usage increases gradually after the process starts

Had the same issue back in October. Make sure Intel gpu driver didn’t get updated.. some drivers have a memory leak that leads to these problems
  23. G

Anybody using BI for more than 30 cameras?

I would just buy a GPU.. offload some the cameras onto an NVIDIA gpu. Cheaper than a new build. I’m running close to 40 cameras with a 9900k. A little over kill. But cpu is only 35% utilized with all cameras recording simultaneously and with UI3 open.

I don’t have it right in front of me but it’s the one that is highly recommended on this forum. NPTtime I think is the name

    Net Time / Date off!

when I manually sync from the pc the time actually works. And doubt that I am hacked. The cameras are on its own separate network isolated from the cloud. The computer then sits behind a fortinet router.Plus your normal security type software. when i actually do the test to the Ntp is when it...

    Net Time / Date off!

it was only set to one minute as a test for that camera.. I have them set at every 12 hours I believe on the others.. and honestly. its just the hikvision cameras that are off. My 3 Reolink cameras are synced perfectly..

    Net Time / Date off!

I just can't figure out how to fix this. Out of nowhere, all 33 of my cameras started reporting the wrong date. The time is correct. I don't know how to fix it. any advice? Some Cameras are saying its Tuesday (today is Monday). Some cameras are even saying its Wednesday! but all have correct time..

New build for 4K cameras. i9-9900K?

#beast! make sure first thing you do ischange the bios to allow both the CPU and GPU to be used at once. I also would turn on auto reboot after a power failure and even wake on lan.. just in case..

New build for 4K cameras. i9-9900K?

I recommend a graphics card. I had a few problems a few weeks after I got everything set up. With cpu spiking. By putting a few on the graphics card. It keeps everything more balanced.
