No Motion Recording on Dahua Camera Connected to Hikvision NVR

Now I have found another problem. :/ My Dahua camera will record 24/7 on the Hikvision NVR but when I set it on Motion recording only, it does not work. Is that "normal"? Does it matter that the time on the camera is not the same as the NVR?

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

Ok, I bought a PoE injector and will try it out later today. I guess not since I have the GV camera sitting on my desk and plugged into the NVR which is on my desk and it still can't see it. Even the GV program can't see the camera because it keeps asking me to configure the port. So I've tried...

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

Sorry! The default IP address of GeoVision cameras is supposedly 192.168.0.10. I left off the 0 on the end. :/ I also found out that the easiest way to change the IP address is to use the GV software so I'll download that and try this all again.

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

UPDATE - I finally took down the GeoVision camera to find out what IP address was printed on it and it does not have one. However, it does have a MAC address printed on it. Is that helpful in any way?

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

Oh ok. I'll use the cmd prompt and see what happens. Thanks. Yeah, you would think the ONVIF program would automatically find it. I did manually add the 3rd IP address. Just trying to manually add the IP address for the GeoVision camera since 192.168.0.1 is supposedly the default IP address for...

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

I downloaded the nmap program but it won't execute. All it does is rapidly open and close a command prompt with lots of lines of messages in it. Maybe I'm trying to open the wrong program - I was trying to open the nmap application file. What is the correct program file to execute nmap?

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

This is my screenshot from the ONVIF program. This is the error message for the 3rd firmware address location. I found documentation so I'm trying to figure out how to use it. Does this mean the program has found the camera? If so, what do the error messages mean?

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

It's not on a LAN. The cameras have E-cords plugged into them and then the cords run straight to the NVR and plug into it. It's a GeoVision camera and it says it's ONVIF compliant so great, I'll download that Device Manager and/or the nmap scan tool and try again. Thanks! Oh ok. I see. Thanks.

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

I can't find the documentation (it is about 4 years old) and the camera is already mounted. And of course I didn't think to write the IP address down first. Dummy! :/ So I'll have to take it down and find out. But if the GV DU program still can't find it, I'm not sure how I will be able to...

Is A GeoVision Camera and A Hikvision NVR Compatible?

Does anyone have any experience with using a GeoVision camera with a Hikvision NVR? My setup is an 8-port Hikvision NVR with 5 Hikvision cameras and 1 Dahua camera directly plugged into it. That's it. None of the cameras or the NVR go through any switch or router or anything. I am now trying...

How Do I Use A Dahua Camera With A Hikvision NVR?

Ok, I finally figured it out and I guess it wasn't a minor miracle after all. :/ What happened was I loaded the config tool for Dahua cameras onto my laptop as someone suggested and then once the software found the camera, I changed the IP settings for the camera to the IP settings that the GUI...

How Do I Use A Dahua Camera With A Hikvision NVR?

The GUI does not even list x.76 but it does list x.77 as camera/channel #7.

How Do I Use A Dahua Camera With A Hikvision NVR?

GUI says x.77 is camera or channel #7 but it is currently plugged into Port #8. It was plugged into Port #2 and it still said it was camera/channel #7. Also, the GUI does not even list any camera with x.76 while the iVMS does. I also can't find out what camera # the iVMS thinks the Dahua is.

How Do I Use A Dahua Camera With A Hikvision NVR?

Oh ok haha. I see. Thx! Any idea why iVMS has a different IP address than the GUI? That seems to me like it would make a difference somehwhere and/or somehow.

How Do I Use A Dahua Camera With A Hikvision NVR?

I used SADP and it doesn't even see the Dahua camera lol. I then used the iVMS-4200 and although it does see the camera, it says the camera's IP address is 192.168.254.76 while the GUI says the IP address is 192.168.254.77. So, I really don't how it is working, but I feel like it is a small...

Well I was trying to manually add the camera with ONVIF but that wasn't working so then when I switched to PnP, it came on.

How Do I Use A Dahua Camera With A Hikvision NVR?

I JUST GOT IT WORKING!!! WOO HOO!!! But, sadly, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW!!! Can someone please explain? I have the Dahua camera plugged into Port #2 on my NVR. So, while I was trying to configure it, the camera came on but my NVR says it is plugged into Port #7. I don't get it!!!

How Do I Use A Dahua Camera With A Hikvision NVR?

I finally got the Dahua Config Tool software on my laptop. And you are right. The IP address of the Dahua camera is currently 192.168.1.108. But the port is 37777 for the camera while the ports for my NVR are 8000 and I can't seem to change the port settings for the camera. So, my NVR still...

How Do I Use A Dahua Camera With A Hikvision NVR?

I moved the Dahua camera from a Dahua NVR setup and it was working just a few days ago and the lights on the camera come on when I plug it in so I think it's still working but I'll plug it back into the Dahua NVR just to make sure. Ah, ok. So I need to get the Dahua config tool then. Great! I...

How Do I Use A Dahua Camera With A Hikvision NVR?

Still nothing but I may have done it wrong. FYI - my system consists of an "Other Region" Hikvision NVR with 5 hacked Chinese Hikvision cameras (I had no idea when I bought them) that ARE NOT connected to the internet or router in any way. But, they worked right out of the box as PnP. However...
