    On another thought, when I finish out the basement I plan to build a closet around all the HVAC stuff. Perhaps that would be a good place to put a full or half rack. Hidden, out of the way, not a second source/direction of noise, and I can put my lab equipment in it too.

    I do plan to have a separate POE switch in there, and a patch panel to home-run everything into. I just can't tell with the dimensions if there's room built into the door for cabling or not. :( It doesn't really look like it.

    I notice the LPR cameras state an IR range of 40m, and the IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 has an IR range of 200m. Anyone have thoughts on that? Maybe I'll get one of each and see what I like the best.:idk:

    Agreed, I would have to play with the height of the cam once I got it close to the house. I read somewhere between 6-7 feet or so. Now what about the actual cam itself? What's the least tacky way to do this on vinyl siding?
