    VPN Setup Not Quite There

    Make sure you reserve the ip adderss for your cameras so they won’t ever change, you prob already did this but just in case you didn’t .. also set rules in the network to block outside access to the WAN, make sure your cameras can only talk to the LAN.

    NONE they all have a security risk that's why you never ever put a camera on the internet or port forward a camera. Always use a VPN... use your router firewall to block the camera services. Also you could put your cameras on a second network from your main network.

    1. Why are you only going to record for 2 weeks? Or did I just read it wrong... ftp is a bad idea it would be much simpler to just use a large HDD for the computer running BI.     Blue Iris is a ONE TIME $60.00 USA fee ... there are tons on pro to using bi like you can use any camera manufacture you want. The mobile app is prob the best on the market !! Look into it ,do your research, and read ,read, read,!!

    You would need a POE switch, would you be interested in using blue Iris ? This way you won't need to stay with one camera manufacturer, And it will kinda feature proof you . Nice Bi machine is around 300 to 600 depending on what you're running and your needs.
