Figuring out Dahua OEM model of Lorex

I believe the P in the model number is some sort of feature identifier (like not having an SD card or soemsuch), but i'm pretty sure it's not NTSC/PAL. yes. N/P is used in the firmware filenames for NTSC/PAL, but not in the mdoel numbers. In any case, this firmware has IPC-HFW4830EP-S in the...

Smartening up the Lorex LNB8005C 8MP mini bullet.

yes, the run commands are aliases defined in the current bootloader environment and it's important to make sure the new FW has the same .img files as defined in the env, tho Not all of them need to be replaced (particularly the boot loader itself) tho. and as for Lorex FW, we already have...

Smartening up the Lorex LNB8005C 8MP mini bullet.

use a small flat screwdriver or spudger to pick up and peel off the front cover and reveal 4 philips screws. the adhesive is decent enuf that you can re-apply later.

Best night cam special use case - No illum/No Ident

FWIW, Hikvision's default 'auto' exposure mode has always been a limit setting. IE, setting it to 1/60 means the longest exposure will be 1/60s.... ( I doubt Anke would disable that - make it truly fixed - for market differntiation)

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

did you get the 2.8 or 4mm version? "Lens Distortion Correction" is really only useful on the 2.8's that have significant distortion/stretching around the edges, and it works (mostly) by cropping the image somewhat. So you might as well just get the right lens in the first place...

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

see also: Smartening up the Lorex LNB8005C 8MP mini bullet. dahuawiki seems to have US model numbers, that are not the same as the international model numbers, which may explan not finding the ipc-hfw4830EP-S the Lorex LNB 8005c/8111c maps to.

Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

I've only been able to get the Dahua firmware onto the LNB8005c (and lnb8111c) using the TFTP update mechanism. see Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP but if you've got the ONVIF compatibility you need with the later Lorex FW, maybe you don't need the DH FW? in any case, the DH...

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

I'd have to agree this is my new 'hero' cam. My only regert is having bought (2) of the 4mm instead of (3) 6mm to cover the 180 degree 'overview' on the street side of our house. 50% more pixels per foot with that sort of low-light chops goes a good ways to making people more identifiable...

    gama/brightness problems

I see you list two cameras in your sig and have at least 3 in your BI setup. that doesn't tell me which one you're talking about, or even if it's any of them in your sig, which could be out of date or incomplete. i suppose i could guess or ASSume, but we try not to do that around here. just...

Are you guys greasing your RJ45 connectors?

yes, she became a successful body builder! bwahaha... anyways, I've always been confused by this stuff. if its NOT conductive, can't it get in between the contacts you need to make and PREVENT making contact? "'s'plain me that, Lucy!"... :-)

    Coating on lens

ah, that makes some sense. condensation inside the lens assembly itself. should work itself out eventually, assuming the cam's moisture-sucking silca pods still have some life in 'em... these can also be 'refreshed' by baking in a very low oven (170F or less) for an hour or two to drive off...

    gama/brightness problems

That's because the app your using to view and record the cams (Blue Iris) is actually just resold by Amcrest and happens to be compatible with their Dahua-OEM'd, Onvif-based cameras. It's used to pull the streams (once configured) and record them and play them back, etc, but in order to...

    Large Sensor Comparo

Well, this set of cams are intentionally set to full time color, so IR hasn't been an issue. I have several old Hik 2032 bullets converted to 25mm for LPR duty at 60-70ft. these obviously use IR at night, but I also focused them at night with a plate on a stand out in the street... Daytime...

    Large Sensor Comparo

er, yes, most likely a focus issue on that one I set it on my bench and focused at about 12ft indoors, so probably not quite right for the deeper view required here... It is interesting to note the extra brightness the f/1.0 lens brings in, vs the stock f/1.6, even with the narrower FoV...

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

Ha! yes, that hole appeared some time after they dug up and patched that circular spot right next to it a few years back (another just in front of the car). unfortunatley, Berkeley doesn't have 'street repairs' at the top of the priority list these days (or ever...). I might try filling it...

Here's one of mine. Exposure 1/120, VBR 10FPS 10240Kbps, contrast @49 (huge diff from 50, for some reason), sharpness 10, WDR ON @11, NR @25 I need some more lighting on the house to balance out the backlighting from the street lamp across the street, just above the Prius. the only lighting...

    gama/brightness problems

yes, as wittaj points out, that's an exposure issue, not gamma. In the exposure pane, select manual, scroll down in the pic list 'till you see/select 'custom' and set a range there... and depending on the model of Amcrest cam (which you didn't specify) you may be able to load up the Dahua...

Nexxt NVR ports don't turn on (green LED) for Dahua Poe cameras

How about trying to use passive PoE splitters for the Dahua cams? usually sold in injector + splitter pairs, you may just need the splitters... won't cost much to try: for example, https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Splitter-Injector-Waterproof-Surveillance/dp/B07QSTNDNY unless Nexxt does...

two set screws? you got a closeup picture of that please, if you open it again... i could see one for Focus and one for Iris. (VF's would have one for zoom level, but a fixie won't have that.) interesting that the Iris may be adjustable. That goes to brightness vs DoF... But maybe the...

Dahua NVR with Wyze V2 RTSP camera

probably not, unless the NVR support arbitrary RTSP URL's (like BI does.) The Wyze RTSP hack is not ONVIF compliant. https://wyzelabs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026245231-Wyze-Cam-RTSP Apparently, recent Hik NVR's can be configured to work with Wyze RTSP, per this video, but i dunnop...
