    2nd Amendment thread

Sadly I don’t see that happening. Houston has always been largely democratic, so people would move to out suburbs, Pearland, Katy, Woodlands, etc. But ever since Katrina, with the flood of newly located dems, they flooded Houston even more and now pushing them out to suburbs. I really think this...

    2nd Amendment thread

Hey Neighbor! I’m in Pearland. And same as you, demographics have changed DRASTICALLY here. I’m a minority in the town now. This area is far from “conservative Texans” now.

Sadly he will probably be fired. I love how people claim Uvalde cops didn’t intervene because school was Hispanic. All of the cops were Hispanic! But being a cop right now, you shoot you are a racist trigger happy cop. You don’t shoot you are a racist who wanted the victims dead. It’s a no win...

Well these are the same people who say “AR” stands for “automatic rifle” or “assault rifle”. Umm no, stands for “Armalite”.

    DHCP question

It just amazes me that the US will take a perfectly capable international NVR and cameras, remove the face recognition and face capture features, and then charge a premium price and force you to purchase a 3k NVR when the other side of the world gets those features in the regular acusense...

    DHCP question

So mine says 160 mbps. The next one up, the $2700 32 channel deep in mind version, , has 320 Mbps. But I did see on Dahua NVR that had 320 Mbps it stated that when in AI mode its max was 160 Mbps. No way I want to spend 3k on an NVR right now lol

    DHCP question

So thought I was in another jamb. Realized that there were 2 different spec sheets for the NVR I got from B&H. One from us.hikvision and one from main hikvision. Us one doesn’t have face capture. One feature I was interested in for at least one camera. And funny you say this, yes ordered a 5mp...

    DS-7616NXI-I2/16P/S US Acusense NVR

Yup, me again with another newbie question/issue. Does anyone in the US have this NVR? And if so, does it have the face capture and face recognition feature? I have been looking at specs for this NVR for weeks now and just pulled up one that looked a little different than the one I was...

    DHCP question

So the NVR I got has max incoming at 160 mbps. The cameras say the bit rate could go up to 8 mbps. So at 12 cameras at the 8mbps I should be good I think. Unless I’m not understanding something which is totally possible lol. I did not look into processing speed so guess I need to go look into...

    DHCP question

with the 12 acusense cameras I have, I should be okay with the acusense NVR as far as bandwidth. Now if I go adding more cameras there may be an issue. But yes this little project has cost me way more than I initially expected. But if I’m going to do it, may as well do it how I want or it won’t...

    DHCP question

actually all he installs is Dahua. But all he does are the standard 16 channel 4mp 12 camera kit that they sell. I wanted AI features and 2 way audio. So I decided to get the equipment on my own so I could get features I wanted and he agreed to just do the labor of the install but I would do...

    DHCP question

Hello Neighbor! Yes this forum has been amazing so far. Glad I found it. There is so much that goes into selecting and setting up a system on your own. Should have left it up to the experts but my stubborn self wanted to go with a system/brand that my installer isn’t familiar with so having to...

    DHCP question

im not too sure they give out in order. So I just got a new iPhone and in my Xfinity app its address is 10.0.0.44. And the ip address for one of my old alarm.com cameras is 10.0.0.204. And a newly connected apple tv is 10.0.0.59

    DHCP question

Understood! Thanks so much for this! yes looks like some of the posts on the forums are confusing Public IP with internal IP but Xfinity routers do seem to have a trickier method of reserving or making static it looks like. Guess I’ll find out later today! on a side note, has anyone use true...

    DHCP question

I appreciate your help! I’m sure most of the people that come through here having much more of a tech understanding than I do. I wasn’t grasping the fact that I could change an IP address and I wasn’t realizing there was a public and internal Ip address. I think I understand some basics now...

    DHCP question

So my DHCP range is 10.0.0.2 thru 10.0.0.253 on my router. You’re saying to do an ip address that would be 10.0.0.300 or something like that? sorry I am all very new to this.

Thanks So after I do that, do I disable the NVR auto DCHP function or leave it enabled?

Yes it does have a POE switch in the NVR. So please excuse my ignorance, how do I go about what you suggested?

    DHCP question

When I activate my acusense NVR should I use the DHCP feature on the NVR? I see how that is the easiest plug and play method. I also saw somewhere that in order to avoid your IP address changing, to mark the DCHP, get the assigned IP address and then to turn that feature off. Is this a good...

    Hikvision software question

I did also get SD cards for each camera just as a back up. So to set up the settings for motion detection and smart events for the sd card, is that all done via the web page to the camera? and then for the smart events for the NVR, I would do those settings in the NVR but under cameras in the...

    Hikvision software question

Yes so I saw how the Hik connect app can be installed on a fire tv. I do have all smart TVs. I just didn’t know if constantly streaming from the fire tv and then also having the NVR screen would cause additional internet usage? Or is it all the same no matter what application is running? and...

    Hikvision software question

So if I am not at home, is the Hikconnect app the only way to then view the cameras and play back? Or can I also do all of that by going to the web page of the NVR? And what is the third and fourth streams for? I understand the main stream and then sub stream is for mobile viewing, but what...

    Hikvision software question

I could just send it all back to B&H if Dahua really is that much better lol that was one of the reasons I went with Hikvision was because the online app was rated higher and was told their interface offered more than Dahua did. ok. So just NVR and web page to the camera for additional camera...

    Hikvision software question

So got all my cameras in and plan to set up everything this weekend. I have 12 acusense cameras and the acusense NVR. First Set up/activation questions

Thank you! It just so confusing since some videos show starting with the camera already plugged in while others don’t. And nobody explains what they are doing and why they are doing it. Just like I’ve seen some say to update right away and others don’t. Just very confusing. But thanks you guys...
