    whoops...thanks for the correction...I had it stuck in my head this was 1/1.8".....so there's nothing like that yet right? as a turret. 8MP? you think the 5831R is the best 8mp turret varifocal still if being put into a bright environment?

    interesting...that 3841T_ZAS doesn't make any mention of it being a starlight.....right I forgot the 5442 is technically the upgraded version of 5231....so would this cam be MORE of an upgrade if it's a starlight, meaning good low-light performance and 8mp?

    I've been looking to upgrade my 5231's probably like a lot of people....wondering what you guys think of this company Montavue that's selling an 8mp with the bigger 1/1.8 sensor model # MTT81130-V-AISMD any experience? It looks like an advancement on something like the Dahua 5831R right? Thoughts?

    hey guys, I have an old AIPHONE intercom system with a Doorbell unit, and 2 indoor monitor stations....there is wiring with power run through the walls to a "homerun" central location...i think it's 4 wires?!....any way to take advantage of this wiring or am i better off trying to run cat 5/6...

    I don't forward any ports.....so outside my LAN i use openvpn...has worked great for a long time....I use chrome to do setup...I can try IE as I'm willing to try anything at this point....it saves all my configs and then less than 24 hrs it's all gone....

    I'm finding this firmware to be problematic with my 49225T-HN ....I've tried resetting to factory defaults a few times now...it works ok for a short time but then the PTZ presets stop working and I end up with a washed out image...never had this with other firmware versions...anyone else...

    thanks...do you recommend using the "factory default" or just "default" under the DEFAULT settings of the camera UI? I'm noticing the cam dropping signal in BlueIris so I wanna go ahead and do this!

    just flashed my 49225T-HN to this firmware...now notice my SD card missing...what's the solution here to get it to re-appear? reset the defaults?

    Cool! ya, i have one of the 2mp starlight's there now for the approach and another that looks down the side of the house in corridor mode and picks up a bit of the front door....this one would cover both and then I could re-purpose one of the 2mp for another location...did you remove the bubble...

    I'd put the mini ptz near my front door where I already have a turret but wanna get a bit more coverage and so would need to split the POE cable there...then I'd put the turret down at the bottom of my yard where I suspect some meth lab activity---there's already been an ATF raid there! fun times!
